Giant Spider

The monstrous spiders creep close to Barns, so close he can see the twitch of their mandibles. They loom above him, but his spell holds, and they pass him without realizing he is there. But what they DO notice is the group of adventurers waiting just beyond their webbings.

With a terrifying speed, one of the spiders leaps high into the air, and lands right next to Miyana, Will, and Thea. It raises it giant legs as it approaches you, intending to bite one of you with its mandibles. A second spider scuttles along the webbings, positioning itself right above your head. The third remains near Barns, at least for now

Our neolegendary fellow drops his javelin, draws mighty Two-Hander. And with divine infusion, really gives it to the assailing arachnid!

Giant Spider

Miyana’s arrow struck the spider as it landed, and Will followed with a slash that split it apart, spilling black blood all over the forest ground. But before you have a chance to catch your breaths, the second spider high in the branches spits a thick spray of webbing down at you, threatening to ensnare anyone too slow to dodge.

OOC:

@WhtKnt, @WhiteDwarf, your weapons are both magical, giving you a +2 to-hit and damage bonus.
Miyana won initiative and stepped back in time, so she doesn't need to roll a saving throw to avoid getting stuck in the webs.
Will, and the other NPCs, aren't so lucky. Give me a Wand SV, or you're entangled, as per the Web spell.

Then everyone can roll initiative for the next round, and for your actions

The two remaining spiders leap, and land on the sticky webbing that enveloped the group of adventurers. Opening their maw, their mandibles dripping with venom, they lung to sink a bite into their trapped prey.

OOC:

those are two misses, luckily for you.
@WhiteDwarf - you are trapped in the webbings and can't strike back, not without getting yourself loose first.
@@WhtKnt - you got out in time, you can take your action without any hindrance.

Giant Spider

Barns manages to swat the giant spider just before it leaps away, his sword tearing into its underbelly and spilling thick, black blood. Both of the spiders fix their eyes on the adventurers caught in the sticky webbings, creeping closer with the intent on finishing their helpless prey before they can escape.

OOC:

That's double damage on the backstab for the spider, so 4 damage. It has now jumped away to join the other spider attacking Will, Thea, and Harald. @WhiteDwarf - using strength alone to escape the webbings is going to take several rounds. But Will is strong enough to maybe try to cut through the webbings with his magical sword which would free himself, or reach for his tinder box and try to set ALL of the webbings on fire (we can assume he did one or the other on round 3).

Roll for initiative and actions for round 4.

Halav perhaps struggles and manages to grip his trusty Two-Hander tightly. Then, twisting his torso just enough against the webs, he slices the silk trappings in attempt to free himself!

Halav swings his greatsword and cleaves right through the giant spider's body in a mighty blow. The creature lets out a shriek, before collapsing in two twitching halves. The second spider rears its legs, ready to bite down on Thea, when Miyana's arrow strikes it between it eyes. It staggers backward, just as Barns hits it from behind. The monster shudders, its legs curled inward as it collapses as well.

The grove remains eerily quiet once again. At least for now..

Our fightery fellow wipes ichor from Two-Hander. What do I call you anyway, he thinks to himself, looking at his trusty sword.
Well…I guess, we should harvest some wolfsbane, Halav eventually says plainly.
Emerald eyes gaze around the immediate area. Looking for what the party came for.
