One of you can make an Archival research roll, and the other can help - I'm going to institute a new rule for helping - whoever is making the roll adds a number of dice based on the helper's skill - add the helper's attribute and skill together and divide by 3, rounding down, and add that number of dice to the initial person's roll. So for example, in this case, Dr Walker would be best placed to make the roll (he rolls 4 dice normally), with Lillian aiding - 3 dice for her total in Academic + Archival Research means that she can supply 1 die to Dr Walker, who thus rolls 5 dice in total. If Samuel had been helping, he'd have been out of his depth (2 dice total, so rounded down to 0) and wouldn't have actually helped at all - maybe he'd have missed a clue, or something..
