Hobb widens his stance, and grips his rough Halfling feet onto the stone floor of this profane place!

"Hoo! Hoo! Steady now!" he says, stretching out his arms to keep his balance!

"Now… what do you suppose is causing that?" he shouts about the sound of earth shaking.

OOC:
Did the howl come from the room beyond this one? Is that door open now? If so, can Lillit see what lies beyond?
OOC:
I didn't describe that very well, did I? No, the scream came from Moloch. The wind came from the next room. The door is open, but in the midst of the earthquake, you can't really see anything in there yet. I assume that we will go in there next.

I will give a little more time and then post the next big post.

As the leader of the cultists fall, Nikk raises his spear in victory, and when the ground suddenly shudders beneath him he nearly drops it.

Dex Check, DC 12 - (1d20+1)

(3) + 1 = 4

Oct 24, 2025 2:14 am
The shaking of the ground rises in intensity, and the Hillshire Wayfinders hear rocks collapsing behind them to the West. The floor buckles beneath Llewellyn, and the warrior loses his footing and falls into the pool of caustic blood. The acidic liquid eats away at his exposed skin. Fortunately, the torch falls upon solid ground when Llewellyn loses his footing rather than sliding into the pool.
OOC:
Sorry, Llewellyn. 4 Damage. I don't know how many HP you have left. If you are still up, then it takes a DC 9 Strength check to get out of the blood pool. If you are down, then one person can lift you out for a DC 12 Strength check. If multiple people work together, add a +2 to the strength check. This is just to simulate trying to get you out while the room is still shaking.
Hobb shouts, "Now...what do you suppose is causing that?" and as if in answer, the door to the East flaps shut and then opens again. Dust falls from the ceiling in the next room over a blood-drenched Titan's skull. This doesn't look the same as the stone skulls that the group has seen previously. This is an actual skull, covered in dried blood. He also sees the glitter of gold from a chest in the next room.

Nikkghak slips and falls upon the floor, but grabs a pew and holds tight to keep himself from sliding.
OOC:
One more round with the earth shaking. There are still two villagers who could be released.

Everyone can post what their character is going to do now.

Can Nikk move to help Llewellyn? Or does he need to spend his turn to get up off the floor after the failed Dex Roll?
Oct 24, 2025 10:07 am
Ivar will look to Hobb"Let's go help Llewellyn and free these villagers!"
Oct 24, 2025 10:54 am
"Up you get!" Hobb says, reaching a hairy hand down to clutch up Llewellyn.
OOC:
I have Strenght Grit if that matters!

Plus two from others, right???

OOC:
You only need to make a dex save if you plan on running through the room. I am assuming that people are carefully moving to Llewellyn to help him. So he is out of the blood now, but still on death timer.
Oct 25, 2025 12:08 am
OOC:
ok thanks! So everyone needs to try to make INT checks, Dc 15, to stabilize him!

The earthquake subsides, and the room has been changed drastically. Great slabs of stone have pitched up and down, creating very rough terrain. The Hillshire Wayfinders can hear liquid running through a crack and notice that the blood around the room is slowly draining. The air is dusty and still tinged with the iron scent of blood.

Behind you to the West, the door is still passagable, but it looks like the passage to the South (where the other locked door was) is blocked by rubble. The doorway to the East still lies open, although the door has been thrown off its hinges and the frame is a bit askew. The giant bloody skull now seems to have a large crack running along the top of it. The torchlight shimmers off gold coins in the next room. There are still two villagers who can be released and saved. Llewellyn has been pulled out of the blood, but isn't breathing.
OOC:
Light Source = Llewellyn's Torch on the ground.

Llewellyn Death Timer = 3 rounds

What does everyone do? Everyone can take a turn. No more shaking, just regular round.

Lillit takes a knee next to Llewelyn, studies him for a moment, and then presses forcefully down onto his chest, expelling some of the nasty fluid he’d gotten into his lungs and restarting his heart!

She then picks up the torch, stands, and says, "He will live, but he will need assistance. Perhaps one of you can help him? We have two more villagers to find, too. But first…"

She moves east to look into the next room.

"Up you get, lad!" Hobb says, once again reaching out a hand for his downed companion.

"Can’t leave you here, can we?" he jokes, as he holds up the man’s weight.

"We’ll be wanting a look at that gold." he tells the others, motioning with his head for them to follow him!
Oct 27, 2025 9:48 am
Ivar will move up and make sure the villagers are okay and cut any bindings holding them."We were sent to help free the villagers. Are there more held somewhere else?"
Oct 27, 2025 10:49 am
"Glad to see you're back, now have some of this to make you feel better." as Orm hands him the healing potion.
OOC:
1d6 healing, 2/2 sips left.
Oct 27, 2025 5:29 pm
I swallow the proffered potion, dazed and confused, I slowly get up, and take hold of the torch, again, and join my fellow Wayfinders once the potion's effects course through my body.

OOC:
Sorry for the confusion. When I said there were two more villagers to rescue in the last post, I meant the villagers who are in this room.
The villagers rub their wrists and shake their heads. "Thank you for saving us, but we don't know if there are any more captives. We were captured at night, and we don't know how many they took. Sorry."
OOC:
Everyone gets 2 XP for rescuing these villagers.
[ +- ] Bloodied Altar
The group weaves their way through the rubble, dust, and crushed stone and slowly, one by one, enter the next room. A massive bloodied skull with a large crack across the top dominates this room. This is a titan's skull. On the large pedestal beneath the skull, the following inscription:

The strong take what they wish, but those who honor Him with the blood of the worthy slain, shall truly know His favor.

A large mural depicting a scene of epic battle is painted on the North wall. The battle is so bloody that it drowns the world. Robed figures with demonic wings fly safely above the sanguine flood.

Around the pedestal and in a chest is 200 gold and a fat, opalescent pearl glowing with an inner radiance.
OOC:
Everyone gets 6 XP for the treasure. Can someone tell me the total XP now?
As you explore the doorway to the south, you smell the scent of fresh air and find reddish metallic stairs leading up to the surface. A secret, well-concealed exit. The passage also cuts back to the East, but the tunnel has collapsed in the earthquake.
OOC:
Light source = Llewellyn
