Looking at the red robed figures, "Logical move is to slit their throats, they'll only end up being a problem at a later time to us or someone else."

Sighing, "But, I can't do it. Pragmatism does not make me a monster."

Following suit, he applies his previously bloodied finger to the skull statue, "Hopefully that's the end of that.", then casts Detect Magic around the room to see if there is anything useful.
OOC:
wheh, just made it.

Ivar has a very pragmatic view of the cultists and has no problem sliding his dagger in their ear so they don't have to worry about them later. He figures going in through the ear there will be less blood. looking at the others"Also any villager who knows how to handle a weapon and wants a robe and to help us are welcome."
Sep 29, 2025 9:23 pm
Not comfortable with slitting the throats of the helplessly asleep—cultist or not—Nikk nonetheless follows in Ivar's path, daubing his fingers in blood and placing ot upon the skull statue.

"That was amazing", he says and nods in Lillith's direction. "But sooner or later even those fools will realize they have been duped, I wager? And we still have more to save."

Ivar will look to Nikk"Don't slit the throat. Slide you dagger in the ear. Less mess."

OOC:
Ivar, Nikk, Hobb, Orm, and Lillit are all safe from the bloodlust. You don't need to roll anymore for each action.

Llewellyn, you still are plagued by the bloodlust, unless I missed you placing a bloodied hand on the skull.

Excellent plan! That was really fun.
The two villagers smile as Lillit informs them that they will be freed. One points to the door to the East, the door between the two skulls. "Go through that door and turn left. That will take you to the dungeon." The other villager nods. "We aren't sure how many they captured from Hillshire, but last night there were six of us in the cages in the dungeon." The two villagers make their way out the door to the East and out of the cave.
OOC:
Everyone earns two XP!

What you find on the bodies...
- Three red robes if anyone wants to change their disguise
- 6 gold pieces

I will let you all decide what you want to do with the sleeping cultists and the cultists you sent to the kitchen before moving on. Everyone can post at will!

Drgwen says:
Lillit turns to Llewellyn and smiles. She says, "This might not be my first time encountering such a group." She licks a bit of the blood off of her finger and turns away.
OOC:
Great RP, Lillit!

OOC:
Ivar as already posted he will eliminate the sleepers.
Sep 30, 2025 2:34 pm
OOC:
If possible, Nikk will adjust one of the red robes and take it instead of his old brown one.

Still have a functioning Heal Spell I can try in case someone needs medical attention.

Hobb only nods as the grim work is carried out. They’d have done the same or worse to his group, of that he was sure.

"Don’t you suppose they’d have something to stop the bleeding?" Hobb says. The cult was intent on causing wounds, but surely they needed to reverse the wounds at times.
OOC:
How are we on health? I’m 1/4!
Sep 30, 2025 4:05 pm
Lillit nods and smiles at Nikk’s words. She replies, "Thank you. I didn’t want to see any of you hurt in a fight. So we should go the skull door, yes?"

She moves in that direction, studying the skulls front and back.

OOC:
I will use verified cultist blood to alieve the Blood Lust, so since we're killing cultists, I'll borrow cultist blood. I just didn't want to take anonymous blood that the cultists were using. So I'll do the skull ritual thing to end the curse. If I could get a heal so I'm full again, that would be great, since I'm perpetually at 1 hp. I'd upgrade to a red robe, too as well sonce there's an opportunity.
Sep 30, 2025 5:44 pm
Orm dons the remaining red robe. He takes out the red potion and hands it to Hobb, "Pass it around to those who need it. A sip should be enough."
OOC:
5/6 sips remaining. 1d6 healed per sip.

I take a drink of the healing draught, hoping to find relief, after committing cultist blood to their cursed altar, turning the tables on the damned blood pain I'd been feeling.

OOC:
Great work, everyone! No one is afflicted with the bloodlust anymore.
Lillit sees that the skulls in front of the doors are similar, but not exact copies of the skull at the beginning of the cave. There is no inscription on these versions.
[ +- ] Hallway Outside the Great Hall
The next hallway terminates in three doors. The Hillshire Wayfinders sneak around and listen carefully at each, testing out the door knobs. The door to the South is locked, and a careful ear hears nothing beyond. From the door to the East, the sound of ominous chanting emanates; this door is also locked. The door to the North is not locked. You hear clinking chains and dripping water.
OOC:

"Clinking chains and dripping water sounds promising. What do you all think?"
Oct 1, 2025 1:10 am
"Agreed. Ominous chanting is never a good thing, hopefully north leads us there to put an end to it."

Orm racks his brain to see if he can make anything out of the chanting itself.

Rolls

INT (chanting knowledge) - (1d20+3)

Lillit nods silently and gestures toward the north door, the one that sounds like a dungeon!

OOC:
Just on the off-chance, did anyone bring any lock picks? Hobb has a crowbar, but that seems a little loud and easy to spot happening!
Oct 2, 2025 12:05 am
OOC:
Ivar would have thieves' tools if y'all want to pick locks. I will wait a little bit before I post about the next room to see if you want to change course and pick locks rather than going into the rooms with the sounds of clinking chains.
