Ivar sniffs the blue potion, and it has a fresh, sweet, floral scent with camphoraceous undertones.

Madge turns and stutters. "I...I...I" She shakes her head. "I just can't remember."
Sep 13, 2025 9:59 pm
"Well, we know what to look for, if not where, perhaps these robes can be repressed to help us infiltrate the area if we have to some searching," I state, sheathing my sword after the grisly business was done and offering the red robe to someone in their number who is currently robeless.

"Madge, let your mind be eased, we're here to rescue you, not harry you with too many questions; if you can't remember, we'll find the rest on our own. If you can make your way back to Hillshire safely, now is the chance!"
Sep 13, 2025 10:31 pm
It smells pleasant so I will take a sip.
Sep 13, 2025 11:43 pm
Ivar immediately feels groggy and finds his strength failing him. He kneels, then sits, and then falls back asleep.
OOC:
Ivar will be asleep for 1 hour (I halved it since you just sipped rather than drank the whole thing. Super potent sleeping potion, it would appear. Damage will wake him back up.

There is a door to push further into the dungeon, or y'all can go back the way you came. I will let a couple more people post if they want to and then we'll get back to initiative order.

Maybe the red is the antidote.

Looking at Ivar's fallen body with a mixture of amusement and annoyance, "Foolish, but now we know what the blue one does."

He examines the red bottle, unstoppering it for a quick sniff to see if he can determine the contents.

Lillit turns to see Ivar slump to the ground. Alarmed, she whispers, "What happened?!" Then she sees the potion and shakes her head. "Drinking strange potions is not wise... Shall I slap him? That might rouse him."
Sep 14, 2025 12:02 pm
"Aye, give him a slap. That’ll wake him up and hopefully have him remember the lesson." Hobb jokes, standing over the battered dog he had put down.

"Terrible thing, that. Nice old dog and all. But thems the way of things!" he says, with a heaving sigh.

He crosses to the dog still in the cage and puts the back of his hand up to the bars. Close enough for a sniff, but not for a snap!

"Come here, lad!" he says to the dog.
Sep 14, 2025 6:09 pm
Orm smells the contents of the red potion and instantly recognizes the scent.
OOC:
It is a healing potion (1d6 hp). I'll let Orm reveal that to the group.
The dog in the cage tentatively approaches the bars to smell Hobb's hand. Hobb can tell that this animal has long been abused and is extremely wary.
Sep 14, 2025 6:30 pm
Lillit smiles wickedly and slaps Ivar. If it rouses him, she stands back and says, "Consider yourself lucky; men usually must pay for that service."
Sep 15, 2025 1:25 am
OOC:
Alrighty, let's return to initiative order. I assume that y'all release Madge. Make sure that you record your 1 xp. Also, don't forget about blood lust if you are infected.
Through the hallway ahead, you hear the sound of bustling, chopping, and shrill voices yelling:

"Oi! Stop yer wailin' and come serve this food, or I'll give you somethin' to cry about!"

The door ahead is closed.
OOC:
Orm your turn.
Sep 15, 2025 2:22 am
Looking at Ivar with a grin as he stirs awake, "Welcome back."

"A healing potion for whoever may need it." Orm tells the others as he stows it in a belt pouch for now.

He slowly opens the door and peeks through.
OOC:
rolling stealth if needed

OOC:
I have written down that the following people are wearing robes...
- Ivar is wearing a brown robe
- Lillit is now wearing a red robe, and we have an extra brown robe if someone wants it.
- Llewelyn is wearing a brown robe
So, that means that two more adventurers could be in disguise. So far, you have only seen humans in the robes. Let me know who wants to wear the other red one and the brown one. Or I guess y'all don't have to wear the robes. Feel free to post out of turn if you would like to don a cloak.
Orm peeks. The noise and chaos are distracting. This is the kitchen. Orms sees a large, glum Orc chopping meat with a huge cleaver. A sweaty halfling removes trays of bread from the oven. There are trays of delicious food on the table. You can hear sobs from the pantry.

"Ya better hurry up with yer bellyaching. Thems going to get angry if they don't get their food soon." The orc shouts, and you recognize the same voice you heard yelling before. He beats his cleaver on the pantry door, and sobbing intensifies for a time.
OOC:
Both the orc and the halfling are distracted and don't notice Orm's peeking.
On hooks by the pantry, you see two more red robes. One large, one small.
[ +- ] Kitchen
OOC:
Also, remember that Ivar, Nikk, Hobb, Llewellyn, and Orm are still infected with blood lust. If your next action is not an attack, then you need to roll 1d4. Orm, I will let you roll it because, invariably, I will roll a 4 if I do it.

Ivar, you are up and wearing a brown robe.

Round 2 Light Roll - (1d8)

Ivar has switched to a red robe it should work better on the inside. He feels the lust to kill and figures these need put down also figuring the one in the pantry is probably a villager. He will look to the other red robes."Let's take these out quick and clean." He won't wait for a response. With his dagger in hand and both hands up his sleeves to hide the dagger he moves into the room behind the orc. As he is slide his blade into the orcs ribs he will say"What is all this crying about? Why isn't this food being served!"

OOC:
Holy crap, Ivar! Again, one shot the baddie.
The orc stiffens as Ivar's blade pushes in between his ribs and punctures a lung. He falls to the floor and gurgles his final words: "Meat's back on the menu, boys." His head lolls to the side.

The halfling turns at the sound, his eyes grow wide, and then he vanishes before Ivar's eyes.
OOC:
Nikk, it is your turn, good fellow

Ivar seeing the halfing disappear will try and cover the door. Or if there is a sack of flour handy that he can sling through the air to cover as much area as possible.

OOC:
I assumed the robes would be too big for a dwarf, but if not, I'll grab a red one.
OOC:
also, as no one else mentioned it, I'll retroactively grab the remainder of the blue sleeping bottle and store it in my belt pouch.
Sep 16, 2025 3:19 am
OOC:
Ivar, I will let you move to the door to block the exit, but I will say that the flour trick (though a good idea) would need to be next turn.

Orm, let's not worry about sizing. Maybe you did a quick cut job, or maybe the robe was for a shorter person. It will all be okay. Ivar and Lillit currently have the red robes, but you can have a brown one.

Nikks turn
Sep 16, 2025 6:24 pm
Holding back the urge to stab his own allies, Nikk rushes in. With the halfling hidden from view, he instead strikes wildly at the trays on the table, trying to scatter them across the floor.
OOC:
Not sure if a roll of some kind is needed, Nikk's just trying to cover the floor with as many things as possible to keep the halfling from moving silently.
