Seeing the red robed figures, Orm is suddenly consumed by a desire to lash out at them, despite his better instinct. He bites hard into his lip to dissuade himself, drawing blood.

He looks at his robed companions. "Two red robed figures, they're distracted. Try and sneak in to finish them off. Keep their robes as intact as possible."

Rolls

Blood lust damage - (1d4)

(1) = 1

Sep 7, 2025 10:59 pm
OOC:
Orm, no. You don't lose your turn, but if you don't attack, then the blood lust takes damage.

For those who are afflicted, remember that the statue said that "The price of entry is blood, and it shall be paid, one way or another..."

Ivar's turn.

OOC:
Question first, Dressed in the robe do I have a chance at a backstab here? Like they won't really pay attention since I have the brown robe on?

"The price of entry is blood, is it? You’d think that their blood would suffice." Hobb says, pointing to the fallen cultists at the doorway.

Still, something had his back up.

"Just make sure I can get my hands free to swing at them!" he reminds the others, as they "take him prisoner."

OOC:
Yes, dressed in the robes, you should be fine. They are distracted by their "sport" of watching the dog terrorize the old woman.

Side note: those of you who have been living in Hillshire for a while recognize this old woman. She is one of the villagers who was captured. If y'all choose to release the villagers, we will assume that they can make it back safely, so we don't have to watch over them.
Sep 8, 2025 8:35 pm
Ivar will move up behind and act like he also watching the sport they are enjoying so much slide out his short sword and attempt to plunge it one of there backs.

Ivar plunges his dagger into the back of Cult Hunter #1, and the red-robed cultist falls forward onto the table. "Wha...What..." Cult Hunter #2 stands and pushes the chair back. The mastiff barking at the old lady turns and tugs against its chain, barking at the violence before it. It's tug breaks the chain loose from the wall. The mastiff in the cage also barks loudly.
OOC:
Nikkghak, what do you do on your turn?

Rolls

Chained Mastiff Tugs - (1d6)

(1) = 1

Sep 9, 2025 7:27 am
Recognizing the old woman, Nikk charges forward, spear in hand. The unnatural thirst for blood drives him into a a very goblin-like frenzy he hasn't felt in years. He takes aim at the remaing cultist, but the bloodthirst throws his focus off.

As Hobb rushes in, the newly unchained mastiff pounces and takes a faceful of mace. It whimpers and falls to the ground. The other dog in the cage stops barking. Eyed downturned, it shuffles to the corner of its cage.
OOC:
Nice, Hobb. Doggo is incapacitated.

Alright, Lillit, your turn.
Sep 10, 2025 5:11 pm
Lillit enters behind her companions and stands near the doorway. Surveying the scene, she points a sharpened fingernail at the cultist and conjure forth some foul sorcery to blind and harm him!

Rolls

(16) + 5 = 21

Target blinded and takes Damage if a success - (1d4)

(1) = 1

Sep 11, 2025 1:22 am
OOC:
Excellent, Lillit! Cult Hunter #2 is now blind and wounded.
The cultist's eyes widen as he watches Lillit weave her magic, then his pupils seem to expand and overtake the whites of his eyes. He screams, and thin trails of blood leak from the corners of his eyes.
OOC:
Finish him off, Llewellyn? It's your turn.
Sep 12, 2025 5:14 pm
Hopefully, all this noise and bloodletting won't ruin our cover, I ruminate on our barely-used disguises.

I draw my blade and move to stab the struggling red robe, hoping to finish off the remaining threat in the room. I try to make my cut clean so as to preserve the robe as much as possible to use as a disguise for anyone else that might want it.

Rolls

Attack - (1d20+6)

(16) + 6 = 22

Damage - (1d10+1)

(9) + 1 = 10

Sep 13, 2025 7:54 pm
Llewellyn's well-oiled blade slides easily between the neck and shoulder blade of the final cult hunter. He slouches and falls to the floor, dead.

"Oh my! Don't hurt me. I just want to go home." The old woman cowers, putting her hands in front of her.
OOC:
Those from the village recognize this person. Her name is Madge. Her husband died several years ago, and she lives comfortably in the village. Often she helps with odd sewing jobs (darning socks and repairing torn trousers.

Searching the bodies you find...
- Two red robes (have holes in them, but will serve)
- Two rusted daggers
- 4 gold

On the table sit two bottles with liquid in them. One is blue, one is red.
OOC:
Feel free to act out of order right now. When we are ready to move on, we will return to Orm's turn.

As I said earlier, if you want to release the villagers, I will just say that they can return to the village safely to save time. You talk them through leaving the dungeon...etc.

Rolls

How much gold do the Cult Hunters have? - (2d4)

(13) = 4

Sep 13, 2025 7:57 pm
Lillit glides forward to the woman and begins to free her from her chains, possibly searching the guards for keys, if necessary. While she does so, she says, "Madge. I know you from the village. We have come to rescue you and the others. Do you know where they're being held?"
OOC:
Lillit would like a red robe if everyone is cool with that.
Sep 13, 2025 8:02 pm
OOC:
Oh, true...keys...LOL. Lillit finds keys! I can't believe that I forgot that.
Madge rubs her wrists. "Thank you! Thank you!" She sits up and then kneels. "I know that there is a room with prison cells. I was there before." She attempts to point, but then shakes her head. "I don't remember the direction; they blindfold us when they move us around."
OOC:
Everyone gains 1 XP for rescuing a villager!
Sep 13, 2025 8:13 pm
Ivar will pick up the bottle of blue liquid remove the stopper and take a whiff. He will also take a dagger. He will look over at Madge"Do you remember the turns you took?"
