@Smiley I am going to do some rolls here to determine surprise but functionally everyone but you is potentially surprised. My hidden roll from before was essentially the enforcers perception of the crowd. You beat the passive perception of the speaker or other PC's they are surprised together.

2024 surprise is just disadvantage on initiative. I am using your stealth roll since you were functionally hiding in the crowd.

edit: basically the only one with disadvantage on initiative will be the speaker.

Initiative for bad guys. Did change my mind, the one enforcer who responded to the villager speaking isn't actively searching the crowd anymore so would rely on passive perception too. Two disadvantages in the bunch

Cloud said calmly, until the Speaker admitted to being demonically possessed. He immediately broke the peacebond on his sword. Then pointing to the speaker he cast a hex upon him, a curse of clumsiness. A bolt of searing energy, his own Ki, exploded forth screaming for the speaker's mouth.

"My sword says you should shut your fucking mouth demoniac."

We will do groups so Ute and Yuriko go first in any order. Then enforcer 1. Then the next group of 3 then speaker/enforcer2 then cloud
Those still in the cart finds themselves about 50ft from the crowd when they see Ryojij suddenly move readying blades.violemce is about to start.

Those in the crowd: the clearing where the speaker and enforcers are is about a 30ft diameter with a crowd 2-3 people deep around it.

i gave sone general distances. Anyone who didnt say specifically they entered the crowd cobsider yourself 50ft from nearest enemy. If you entered crowd 25ft will functionally get you to any enemy.

Yuriko slips out of the cart, nodding to the driver, 'Stay here, take cover'. Watching the enforcers, she moves closer, drawing her sword but leaving it down by her leg. 'Let's see what we're dealing with,' she thinks to herself as her tattoo and her eyes briefly glow.

Keeping his distance Utu’s pistol seems to leap into his hand and he extends it out line front and back sights, slowly he depresses the trigger and a loud crack echos in the village . . .

The Enforcer snaps its head toward Utu as the bullet goes past his head, his spear snaps up to it's hand and it responds with the throw of it's spear at Utu. The Spear flies by Utu missing him, before reappearing in the Enforcers hand in a gleam of shadow.

@Smiley with battle conditions barely changed, I would like if the spell still triggers but you still get bonus action and movement if wanted.

Eddy reaches deep into the earth and centers himself. As he throws himself forward, it is as if the ground itself seems to aid him as he cover the 60' to the enforcer who threw his spear at Utu (Instinctive pounce) and the speaker ending up between them, his axe in his hands. Utu feels an upswelling of energy from the earth as well (rage bonus). The axe chops at the large enforcer like he was a tree, aiming roughly at his knees. Then cuts again

Will adjucate the whole round afterwards but I will point out speaker is down. I believe the concept given was nonlethal damage on him so that is how I will narrate it.

also @badbaron if you didn't know you can format an Advantage roll as "2d20H1+9" and it will just take the highest of the two d20 rolls for you :)
