"Stone overboard!" Parish calls out. He rushes to the gunwale and leans out to grab the Ptisilith in the hopes of hauling it on the ship. However, the wet rock is heavier than he expects. He strains and grunts but fails to find purchase on the slippery surface. The Ptisilith falls back in the water and Parish loses his balance, falling in next to it with a splash.

Moon Prince doesn't seem very worried about Parish falling overboard. They bring their fingers to their mouth and produce a whistle. The Ptisilith moves slowly to the right, enough for Parish to be able to grab hold. Then they whistle again, a different tone this time and the large rock hovers upwards out of the water.

"I've noticed that a guak note makes the Ptisilith move to the side. And a fulian note makes it go up." They tell the group. Noticing the puzzled expressions, they add "Oh. Sorry. I think you know them as E-flat and B." They giggle.

The Ptisilith hums a low B as it hovers besides the boat.

The Ptisilith bumps against the boat, rocking it somewhat, though fortunately not enough to knock anybody off of it.
OOC:
Whoopsie: Bump harmlessly off a door jam, fence, or other obstacle.

"I spot the Bed and Breakfast dead ahead! Hard aport and to the east, mateys! 'Tis too soon to return home - we have much to do yet on our briny journey," Parish says, a spyglass pressed intently against one bulging eye.

Whoopsie: Refuse to let go

The Ptisilith drifts off as Parish sails the ship to the east. You've only traveled for a few minutes before another bit of flotsam appears off the starboard bow. A floating skeleton. Is that Rag-and-Bones?

Amelie decides to ask, "Rag and Bones, is that you?"

She throws a life preserver. The splash of the life preserver landing near the skeleton wets the scroll in the skeletal hand. One moment, it’s a page with Yazeba’s fourteenth-greatest magical secret. The next, it’s a blank scroll with ink quickly running off the page.

Definitely not Rag and Bones
The skeleton, who definitely isn't admitting to being Rag and Bones, cries out. "Nooooo! The scrooooooll! It had Yaz... " Then he realizes he's close to the residents of the B&B "Uhm... Yazorbo's meat pie recipe on it!"

Though, this could be a good opportunity to spy on the goings on of this Boat & Breakfast."Say, strangers." Rag and Bones says. "My name is 'Deck and Barge'" He snickers silently. Haha, They'll never realize who I really am with such an amazing fake name. He thinks to himself. "Would you mind hoisting me out of the water?"
OOC:
Going to delay Moon Prince's post so I don't have to react to my own post :)

Parish reaches down and hoists the familiar looking skeleton out of the water.

"Do I know you? Hrm. Oh yes! You are the famous chef from Sweden! Welcome aboard! We could use a culinary craftsman to fill our bellies with delectable delicacies. It is almost tea time after all," the captain says, patting his slightly rotund stomach.
OOC:
Whoopsie: Bluster headfirst into a terrible mistake

"A chef from Sweden?!?!" Moon Prince says excitedly. "Can you make any amazing sea food platters? I've heard much about them!"

"Parish, do we have any fresh fish or those things that look like snails?"
OOC:
Anyone can play rag and bones, btw. Feel free to do whatever with him. He can be in the chapter as long or ad short as we feel like :)

Viv sighs to herself as the others drag the unpleasant skeleton up into the boat with them. She doesn't feel much like talking to the undead man, so she pulls her hair down over her face and keeps her eyes on the rudder and her fishing line.
OOC:
Whoopsie: Hide behind my hair.

"Hrm. Most unfortunately, I only packed dry foods for our journey. I'd expected the sea's bounty to provide the fresh meat necessary to power the crew as we sailed into the unknown."

Parish looks at Viv and her fishing line cast over the gunwales. Then he looks at the angle of the sun and the ripple of the wind over the top of the water.

"Patience in fishing is the most valuable tool in the tacklebox. Let us continue our voyage to the south. Perhaps there we might find, below the waves, a more favorable sea floor topology for any fish that seek a delectable meal."

Bingo: Give a bit of fatherly wisdom.

"Are we returning to the B&B? I... am planning to surprise the owner, who's name I definitely dont remember, with a Swedish dinner. Yeah, that's it. Mehehehe!" the soggy skeleton cackles in wicked delight.
Sep 12, 2025 10:29 am
"Aye, aye, captain," Viv says, steering the ship to the south.

After traveling for a bit, the Lady of the Lake gasps as she gets a bite on her line. She eagerly reels in the catch, pulling out of the water a large catfish that had been out for a swim! "Hey! I got one! I got one!" she says excitedly.

She looks at the fish squirming on the line, though, and she frowns. "What should I do? Should I keep it? Should I toss it back? I... I'm not sure..."
OOC:
Whoopsie: Get caught up in indecision.

"Let's eat it!" Moon Prince shouts loudly when they see Viv has caught a fish. They run towards the skeleton "Deck and Barge, you can cook us up something delicious, no?" and look at him with big moon-shaped eyes. Unfortunately, on the way there, they fail to see some of Viv's fishing equipment. With a combination of curse-words and knocking sounds they fall to the deck flat on their face.

A weakly said "I'm OK..." comes soon after.

Even Rag and Bones winces as Moon Prince goes down, but doesn't do anything to help them up. "Uhm... why... yes, of course!" He says, keeping up the disguise. "They don't call me the Skillet Skeleton for nothing. Show me to the kitchen."

I'll get them to bring me to Yazeba's and put something in their food to knock them out so I can steal her spellbook! This is *perfect*. These idiots won't know what hit 'em...

Viv nods and hands the catfish over to the Skillet Skeleton. "Here you go. With luck, I'll be able to catch some more fish to feed everybody," she says with a hesitant smile.

"More fish, ye say? Perhaps what we need is a bigger fish to feed the hungry guests? Of course, bigger fish live in deeper waters."

Parish puts one webbed foot up on the edge of the boat and pulls his hat down low, a far off look settling over his face.

"What seems now another lifetime, I was captain of a fishing boat that had been tracking a majestic white carp across the waves. The crafty koi kept giving us the slip. He almost sank the boat but we narrowly escaped. The one that got away. His name - Toby Rick."
OOC:
Whoopsie: Lose track of reality while caught up in a flight of fancy

Let's head east!
Sep 17, 2025 8:05 am
"Aye, aye, captain," Viv says as she steers the ship east. As you approach the edge of Veilridge, a familiar sight looms in the distance ahead. It's the train station! Huzzah!
OOC:
When we find the Train Station, everyone who wants to can describe something beautiful or interesting about how the water sits over the tracks, and everyone gets a token. We each grab a Guest to play for a little while, until we return to the Bed & Breakfast. (Then, anyone who wants to get off the boat may go inside, except for Parish and the Moon Prince.)

Moon Prince dusts themselves off after falling and put their glasses back the way they're supposed to be. "Uhm.. I think the kitchen in this way, Mr. Barge."

Rag and Bones
"Ah. Great!" The skeleton says, walking to the make-shift kitchen inside the boat.
"I'll make a beautiful dish with it. I even have this package of French seasoning that goes great with it! It's called 'Rat Poison'" He uses a French accent for that last part, making it sound fancy.

From somewhere inside the skeleton's vest something echo's the word "Rats!". Rag and Bones quickly talks over it before Ratto gives anything away. "You know, 'poison' means fish in French! And Rat is a well respected brand."

As he walks inside and closes the door a weird eerie laugh can be heard from the kitchen.
OOC:
Bingo: Cap off a conversation with a sinister laugh.

"Wow, we're so lucky to have found him in the water!" Moon Prince says to the others, smiling. "Hey what's that over there?"

As the ship glides up to the train station, its gentle wake ripples over the tracks and makes the metal rails look like eels, writhing and dancing in the glimmering waves.

Parish calls for the boat to dock and prepare to take on passengers. From the shade falling against a wall of the station, an elegantly and thoroughly bundled older woman rolls forward in her old fashioned wheelchair.

"Finally! I've been waiting in this dreadful sun for hours to be taken to the Bed and Breakfast!" Lady Sheridan du Sang says, waving about a handkerchief with a crimson stain on it. "Could someone grab my luggage? And do be careful not to damage the tasty morsels inside."
