Yes, we should finish the IC thread, but we've been told we'll be updating to Level 2 and this is a playground to learn the game so I was pushing forward. It's updated on Demiplane, but not here.
I think that whoever hired Falka gave him a lot of details and background perhaps of the crew but he ignored it. He know that some are "greener" than others but views himself as "the expert" (even if he isn't really).
I would say rumors about him are sparse but praise competence. I imagine his drunkenness/nonchalance might be shocking to those who have heard about him.
I've been slowing working up a concept for my character and I'm trying to see where he might fit in the feudal structure.
Class: Warrior
Sub Class: Call of the Brave
Looks like caste 31 Knights (Shieldsworn) is all the knighthood. Usually though there are many more normal fighting men then there are knights. The archers on the walls, the footman, guards who stand watch. I would assume with the threats, cities would start moving away from voluntary militia and toward standing armies. Not sure if those all fall into 312?
I'm considering my character to have been a been in such a unit, perhaps a leader of some kind, Corporal or Sergeant. I'm kicking around two possible back stories.
- He's originally from a lower rank (son of a fisher or something) and went military to help protect his homeland
- He's 4th son or a lessor noble and went military to piss his family off (and help protect his homeland)
In either case, he has fought on the front line against something attacking the city. One experience I'm considering is "Hold the line" a reflection that he has been in it before.
Front line could have been against bandits or more likely a larger pack of wolf/panther/raptor creatures that had caused problems for the farmers.
Why did he leave the front line?
Why is he at the Angelholm Monastery?
Excellent questions :) I don't know yet. I'm building the mechanical parts of the character while considering the story aspects.
Emberskyes character established a very long trade route between cities. I might tag onto that as a good place needed additional guards. Still considering.
Submitted a level 1 character - Warrior, Call of the Brave, Human, Seaborne.
Mechanics are there - still working out the experiences, background, and answer to your questions.
Question on equipment - looks like he gets a primary weapon (longsword) and his armor (chain mail). Based on what I'm reading, that seems like it to start - which seems odd coming from D&D. I'd like him to have a shield and a short or long bow, but not sure how you guys are handling starting gear.
I've altered Zandor's history a bit and updated his character sheet.
He is son of a sea captain, merchant trader, grew up on ships of all kinds.
Why did he leave? His father's ship was sunk in a storm. Zandor was there, but unable to save his father. He has lost his purpose since then, hiring on various ships or ports.
Why is he at the Angelholm Monastery? It is a place he had been before when he was very young. It was where the most recent ship was going and now he is looking for where ever the waves or winds will take him.
