(OOC in RP) Can I roll 'Let it Out' to find a hidden clue?
Sure, you could also think about rolling Study a Place of Power [ref] (instead or as a possible followup aided by your clue).

I went with 'Let it Out'. Study a Place of Power is also suitable, but Emma is less interested in Dead-Beat and his cronies right now.
Managed a '7', so if the choice is up to me, I would go with success with a cost. Emma finds an important clue, but she is also caught red-handed by Dead-Beat's vampire girlfriend.

Sounds good. You can show us what you find and then how you are caught by the girlfriend (and maybe hint as to how she got Dead-Beat to not be here).

Do you know her? Want to roll for it? Or is she too new? Feel free to give her a name, either way.

(in RP) ... "I’ll owe you a debt if you let me leave. ..."
It feels a little weird to offer a Debt out load like that, but I suppose these people understand that in-world mechanic (even if Emma does not seem to :), so it may be talked about like that.

Mechanically it is tricky, Tara does not care about 'Debts later', so you would need to Persuade her to put off her fun, but it could get messy if you miss and even on a 7-9 it could get messy.

If you want to take the risk, both of rolling and of owing someone like this a Debt, maybe roll Persuade [ref] (or something else if you can think of something else) and we can see if she accepts.

Sorry. Pretend Emma said something like she would be in her debt, or something of the sort.
I don't imagine Tara would care about 'debts later' either, so the Persuade move might not be triggered at all!
She, Dead-Beat, strike me as impulsive.

I'm going to roll 'figure someone out' instead, hoping I can get a lead on what it would take for her to let Emma leave.
Does that sound suitable?

Or maybe 'let it out' by appealing to convince her to act on her 'kindness, role, or own best interest'?

That was the impression I got, too.

That could work.

Not sure her 'kindness' applies. :) Nor her 'role'. But you may be able to find a way to leverage her 'own best interest', but you will need to work out what those are... so maybe after the Figure Someone Out?

I rolled 7 on 'figure someone out'. So I'm thinking the obvious 'how could I get your character to allow me to leave?', plus - 'how could I put your character in my Debt?'

How do you glean these answers? What you learn needs to be backed up in the fiction, so you may need to talk some more. I can steer the conversation towards answers if you can't.
Delirium says:
(in RP) ... She really hoped there was something more than that. She tried reading it in her body posture, but the longer she looked at her, the more she started to worry that what she was seeing was all there was.
Do you have something you would like? Or is what we see what we get?
How much would Emma be willing to give? How much are you willing to make her give?

She doesn't strike me as a planner, and neither does Dead-Beat. I intended them more as a symbol of the Chaos left behind after Eliot's disappearance. I think Emma would have an uncomfortable choice to make, but what I know for sure she won't willingly offer is anything sexual. She's still loyal to her husband.

Yep. :)

OK. They may want and hope for that, and you can dangle that prospect as a lure, but you are always in charge of it if goes there.

Maybe blood, and a fun time like you showed Dead-Beat? (so: demands on your time... and 'not, like, next week' they don't look that far ahead. :)

You might be able to appeal to her own best interests and offer her 'regular blood, but on your term' rather than a one off now which could be messy?

Likely, considering there is already a party going on right there in the living room. Let's see where it leads.

I went for the first option, and rolled an '8'. So getting by the skin of her teeth, more or less

'teeth in your skin'?

The end result may be slightly like a middling Escape a Situation and you may owe someone for helping you, but you would need to be reminded of that.

I don't think the security went into the penthouse... that would cause a ruckus ... but you could also avail yourself of his services if you want him to help you.

(in RP) ... pants ...
I am also assuming that when you say 'pants' you mean American pants and not British pants...
Correct me if I am wrong and lucky Tara (and everyone else) gets a higher rated show.

Umm...yes. She would have no reason to take off her panties.
Aug 4, 2025 8:41 pm
That's what I thought.
Aug 5, 2025 6:39 pm
Oof, Emma has had a rough few days…
Aug 5, 2025 7:49 pm
Yeah... nothing she did not bring upon herself, though, so we can't feel too bad for her. :)
Aug 5, 2025 8:23 pm
Well, I feel bad for the character; Persephone, on the hand, likely would not! lol. She's too busy trying not to feel anything at all.
