Hi, @Esidrix

Edited Noxmorte character sheet a bit bc the base roll in these rules is 2d6 not d20.

Please go ahead and roll for coin, buy gear, and let me know what sort of a person Noxmorte is.

The personality is tough quiet type. Sort of the intelligent fighter thief. Knows he'll probably never fit in to polite or noble society but Smart enough to steal and strong enough to fight if it goes sideways.

Embarrassed that I forgot what game I'm running. Instead of rolling for coin and buying gear, please name three common items that you have and two Specials. Please see the rules for examples of specials.

Also, I should mention that I will be on family vacation June 10–19 and should not be checking or posting here during that time.

Yeah, I was wonder about the items. Didn't know if anything was off limits or different from the rules. But I think I have it, you are using Azag as a setting, but the rules are the rules for this game. :) I'll get the gear and specials updated.

Ok, Gear/Specials and first post in. Question: what are the rules of this L-R-C game. The standard (Earth) game only has 3 chips per person. By the count we are all wagering a 4th slip. At some point we have to stop wagering and just roll until the slips are sorted? Just clarifying, in case I need a strategy. :)

Noxmorte rides a prairie "antherodon", which is a creature invented by the writer of Azag. I think it's meant to be like a very large armadillo. It doesn't move particularly fast or agile but can keep plodding in a straight line for a very long time. It grazes while it walks. It has yellowish-green armor.
Antherodon says:
I've got some desert antherodons, they've got the clay colored scales. Or maybe you're interested in a coastal one. Those webbed feet are for paddling through the shallows while it grazes on kelp. They're all good-tempered, there's really no bad way to go with these.

Antherodon says:
- Taste Emotions - While off-putting to some, the large three-pronged tongue of The Antherodon serves a variety of useful functions. Most commonly used to wet the creature's eyes it can also allow them to gain an insight into the feelings of whatever it comes into contact with. When a character is licked by an Antherodon the saurian's disposition will change depending on how the character feels toward it. Friendly emotions are met positively while hostility is the
opposite. This also makes it nearly impossible to mislead one that has tasted you.

- Pack Animal - Antherodons are the most heavily domesticated animal in the world. A favorite among merchants for their ability to haul goods across long distances. Herders shepherding packs of these gentle giants can be found all over.

Are we still following the initial recruitment post? Do I have encoded papers to deliver to the spiders?

Yes, you do. @esidrix

Ok, so I'm liking it, but I'm kinda at a loss. I don't know the setting and I'm just making wild guesses at trying to find the adventure.

What about this:

make a Clever roll to figure out a way to get on the guest list (higher roll = I'll offer an easier way to do it)
OR
make a Noble roll (DS 10) to bluff your way in anyway.

I don't have a feather right, I'd need to go find/buy one?

let's see how this goes

As a silly aside, years ago, > 30, I was playing a long running game of Star Wars and our team had developed a number of code words for use in play. An example is 'Potted Plant' was code for a Thermal Detonator. One adventure, more than a year after developing our set of codes, the GM was reading a purchased adventure description and as he read, potted plant, 4 of us yelled out: "Diving for cover". He looked at us perplexed for at least a minute before re-reading the passage to himself, which lead to "oh jeez" facepalm. To this day, I consider diving for cover when faced with a potted plant.

@esidrix, I think that you've made FIVE rolls (counting rolls I made for you) That puts your Luck die at ⚅.

Your Luck die starts at ⚀ and increases by 1 (up to ⚅ max) each time you roll. At any time, you may SWAP your Luck die for any die you roll (so if you roll ⚁⚃, you could swap your ⚅ for the ⚁. Or, when your Luck die is ⚅ you can CASH it for 1 additional point in any stat (setting it back to ⚀ when you do so).

@esidrix, I'm running this as a sandbox, so it's gonna be boring unless Noxmorte actively seeks out adventure.

If you'd like something with more of a set adventure scenario, you could check out Sky Pirates or Scoundrels of Xoth

(with minor adjustments to numbers, Noxmorte's overall concept would fit well in either game)

@tibbius - That's interesting, from my perspective, all I've been doing is searching for adventure. I've followed every lead I've found until it ended. With a total lack of background on the game setting I'm counting on you to drop a clue or describe an opportunity for me to follow. But I agree, the Scoundrels game with other players looks like it could be fun. Noxmorte would fit right in, but I'll wait and see how many fighter types we end up with. :)

Yes, I'm struggling with how to light a spark of adventure in this game. I don't know why; I like the setting, and the character. But it's just not flying for me.

No worries, sometimes ideas sound better than they turn out.
