Player Introduction Form - Nearly sorted - I think

I've spent this morning working on setting up my Player Introduction thread for my game.
https://gamersplane.com/forums/thread/37544/

I think it's pretty much there except that whilst copying the form and filling it in works the input fields are not being saved to the player post. It just saves the blank form. So, I'm obviously missing a vital bit of the process. I'm just not sure what it is.

I've noticed that when I edit the post as a player the a tab appears in the Rolls And Decks section labelled 'Player Introduction'

And it seems to allow me to input to the first two fields of the form. But I've no idea where that's coming from or going to. But it might be a clue as to what I'm doing wrong.

I believe only Polls and star wars fate tokens (see the BBC code guide) can be clicked, and remain persistent, by other players on posts.
Check box and form fields only persist in a character sheet that can be edited by a given player, the one who created it and/or GM of the game the sheet is part of.

Ok! So the BBcode works in a post but the results cannot be saved.

So, is the solution to copy the form into a Character Sheet and then share the character sheet in the post. I was watching Qralloqian Lore vudei's yesterday and got the impression he was sharing them in posts.

Start wars fate turn are public to be updated and persists
Polls are public to be updated and persist

If the DM shares a sheet he creates the player entries onto form fields and check boxes will not persist
Character sheets only persist for the Creator and dm. You could have the sheet in the forum, the player uses that to create their own from your template, then submits it to your game.

I would just ask the questions and let the players answer them. Much simpler. If the answers are to be private just have the plays use notes to prevent other players seeing the responses

@Psybermagi: I'm intrigued by the tabs that appear at the foot of the posting template during your game as they look like they might provide an answer. You appear to use them for all sorts of purposes.
  • Drop Down Access to the player's Character Sheet for quick reference and dice rolls.
  • DM Screen provides drop-down access to general game information similar to my Campaign Wiki sub-forum. But also 'Snippets' which as I recall can be extracts from Character Sheets etc.
I'm just wondering if I'm missing a trick here.

If I created a form template in one of these tabs, would the player be able to access it fill it in, and post it on their post?

Yes. If you use a snippet then selecting it from a dropdown on a shared or PC game sheet would drop the content into a thread. However you still have the issue that form fields and check boxes do not update in threads, only on character sheets.
I do use form fields and check boxes on my own DM sheets and publish snippets with the content.
But it looks like this will not work for players editing my shared sheet and publishing the snippet. Tried it out and the posted snippet does not contain the form field and check box data entered, only the saved content

You can have them publish the questions and just type in results in a thread

@Psybermagi: Ok! Well, interesting anyway.

I'm still curious about these 'Tabs' and what they might be able to do to help me with my game management and set-up. I've been through the ones you are using for your game, and they seem to include a lot of useful potential functionality, including data capture. But I need to understand exactly what they are capable of doing, and equally important, how to create them.

However, this is a public thread, so it might be better to talk about it in-game.
