Hard to call something like that a game even, when the ST/GM won't read playing messages.. Wild.
They basically read only the tl;dr mechanical part and skimmed or ignored the rest. It's especially silly considering that most of those games were heavy on the narrative.

I personally do try to keep up with players in my games by asking them what direction they want to take the character and what topic, themes and elements they want to explore, but I also could probably do a better job of it. What definitely helps is some feedback - if you (and I mean generic "you", not you in particular S.F.) have any thoughts or desires about your character or the game - do express them to your STs/GMs! We're here to facilitate a fun and interest for everyone, after all.
We should play something. Because I tend to have a lot of ideas for my characters and most GMs tend to throw them out instead of developing. I have at least one Godbound character and one AD&D2e character who need their stories told.

On a side note, this is an interesting question - as a player, do you read other players posts and material intended for them, like their solo threads or lengthy responses from NPCs addressed to them specifically?
Usually yes. I track character development and behavior of PCs to gauge if I want to interact with their players more or less in the future. When I already know people at the table personally and trust them, this statement also becomes true for me:

Yep, I try to be a fan of the other players and their characters. Often I try to engage their characters in some exchange to strengthen bonds or just learn a bit more about them. I might have my precious character, but the game is about all of us.
