Ok, the character creation mechanics are either incredibly easy, or I have not understood any of it!
I have put together Jarl "Jed" Splitzen. From Swedish coal-mining community in the Appalachians, but he works as a bounty hunter. A taciturn gentleman of 27 years, he has a hard edge to him that he works to hide, trying his best to be sociable.
@DavidDezo: I submitted him for you to check over and see if I missed anything.

It's working for me!
I have started creating my character (a Mexican vaquero who left Mexico after falling in love with a hacienda owners daughter and being chased off). Where is information about Heritage Traits? I can only see regular traits.

Meet 'Father' Ezekiel Merritt.
Ezekiel is no priest. He is a scoundrel who killed a priest, stole his clothes and kept the religious persona ever since. He makes up biblical-sounding sayings on the spot. It's crazy what fools people can be. Nimble of fingers, he is a pickpocket and an opportunist. He preys on the gullible wandering from town to town, until he can get away with it. When things get hot, he drifts to another town.

Guys, please replace the "Bounty" value by "Sanity" which is starting at 6 for everyone. Thanks !

Jed is a bounty hunter, who is more concerned about getting the reward than about sticking to the law, and is definitely opposed to getting shot! So whatever it takes to fill his saddlebags with the bounty and get to the next big town alive.

Then you choose your character, then you submit it.

Hey guys ! It's me again ! Maybe it's too late or not, but in the Deadlands setting, there is 3 or 4 "magic user" archetypes: the priest, the shaman and the huckster. If you want, you can try and do one of these archetypes. But if you are happy with your actual character, its ok also ! Feel free to ask questions ! ;)

I'm happy with Jed as he is, so won't change him. Or his facial hair. What the heck, that is some beard and tache he has going there! Wooo weee!

Likewise, happy not to use magic for my character - I think it will be funny to discover horror/the supernatural if we are a bunch of mundane, non-magic folks... Regular people (albeit of the Western Scoundrel persuasion) facing the supernatural. Bring it on!

Question: we changed the Bounty on the sheet, so presumably we won't use that. How is Grit recovered, then?
