[OOC] General talk

Hi! It looks that all have ended well:) My daughter was at home just before Christmas:)) And she seem to recover completely from that time, but we still take care for her not to be exposed to to many bacteria/viruses. Had one more stressful situation on Christmas Eve day, that had its repercussion until after Christmas' holidays, but it also seems to resolve well - thanks Good God! :) So it means I will be able to be back on GP. Hoping to slowly catch up with all the games here during this week, and get to full speed from next week:)

Thanks for all the good words! They meant much more than I thought they would:) It seams that such "basic" kindness become more valuable in today world with each passing year. At least for me:)

This game will still be my priority, as long as there will be players willing to continue it:) And it seams you are still here with me. What makes me happy:) Besides I had some time during other activities to think some more about general stories in our world and NPC you will meet along the way... so I think I have prepared quite an interesting main story arc for the fallowing possible events. And chosen some interesting modules/adventures to adopt for it and connect all things together:)

When you will end exploring camp we will deal some well deserved/earned XP for your PC's and I will explicitly present at least with two following "next destinations" - if your PC will not figure it out earlier by themselves:)

So hoping to SITLL have you all with me here in this game, world and stories we create together:)

Late, by honest: Happy New Year, everyone! :)

(I think I will be on top on my reading in all the games today, so expect new posts in your threads, and from that point we will slowly getting back to speed with my posting).

I believe we established Sadur stay with Shallan while Kimbek joins Belladonna and the rest of investigators.
@Pedrop if you don't mind I would prefer no spotlight to my PC until after you narrate Princess and the rest join the party and they face new challenges along their course of further actions.
I love RPG for challenges/encounters and getting bored with small talk for the stake of a small talk.

Hi! Sorry, for another delay on my side, but I was on little holiday with my family until yesterday - I was expecting to have some time to post here, but it wasn't the case. Either way, I'm back on GP, and not planning longer absences until summer:) And will aim at 4-5 posts per week(Mon-Fri, no weekends).

Sorry, everyone I have been out of commission due to our poor internet connection here and I've been only able to get on a few times. I think we have it restored finally, so I will try to post something tomorrow. Apologies if I'm holding anything up.

The beauty of PbP, we can simply wait :)
Feb 4, 2025 8:07 pm
I agree, take your time!

Yes, take your time - it happens sometimes.

Just... it was good to know, that it was external reasons for you slowing with posting, as I started to think my recent absences just killed a momentum for this game. But it looks that we could still recover:)

I think 3 players is minimum for this game and I hope Grey is still with us. But I'm slowly thinking about recruiting a new player to get some new energy in this game.

What do you think about it? :)

I'm still here. Still waiting for "few PCs investigate abandoned camp" to be over. I don't mind story on hold until everyone are ready to play. Be it another week or month - that is fine. But it needs to get back to "almost a post per working day" for me to play.

Recruit new players! This is yet too early in game to tell for sure, but my initial excitement about the system is gone. 5e works better for me.

I kind of agree with you, Greyword. I finally got the physical copy of the game a few weeks ago and after looking over the rules, I'm not sure its a great one for play-by-post. I do like the system, I just think it works quite better in person. I am enjoying our story/game here too, though (once I can catch up with it on the few days my internet is working).

Ok, so I think I will sit down to recruiting new players next week, or so:)

That Grey likes 5e more, is not surprising at all for me:) That's expected:)

But I'm curious what you think makes ToA system not-so-good for PbP, Shadowknight? Honest question - as I don't consider myself as "very experienced GM" and especially not for PbP format. Are you planing to run it IRL?

As somehow I'm "afraid" that it may not be system itself, but more so my "to detailed" approach to every scene/move of camera? And maybe I should move the action faster?

So if the story is "not that bad", you think changing the system for this game would help to make it better?

(and no... 5e is out of question unfortunately, as in my personal experiences it usually more talking about rules, then story and fun things, but I get why people like it:) )

Hey, I’m all for using AD&D 1ed. ????

Sorry I didn't mean to suggest system change. I still think it is too early to make a conclusion about this one. We haven't got past the the first chapter and are still in "Arrival" scene. We only have a single actual challenge (the bridge) we failed it (at least to in books loosing a party member splitting a party and getting some of them hurt is a fail). I'm looking forward to see at least few more challenges and at least one real combat.

Recruiting for additional players sounds fine to me! I don't think I'm experienced enough with this system or others to give much feedback. I think I'm still learning how to play Tales of Argosa. In terms of story, I am good with it and shout-out to Avraham playing his character well! If we want to speed it up so everyone can play together again, I am fine with skipping some of the tents unless they are important to the story.

Thank you for the kind words, quilltid.

I know it may not be fair, but Pedrop has been running 3 threads—the main, Kimber/Sardur, and Bartholomew—and only in the past few days have they all been harmonized. I'm hoping that pretty soon he will release the embargo on Bartholomew so y'all can see just how much work he has put into this story!

For me, Tales of Argosa seems to be a bit more action-oriented than a play-by-post would be able to handle. There are a lot of dice flying around for various things and the system was designed to let as many things take place at the same time as possible. So, a play-by-post would take some time into effect and not really be able to let that part of the system shine. Also, apologies again for my delay. It's not the internet this time, but my availability. I was working 10 days in a row. (Actually called in sick the last day cause I was physically exhausted. Today is my first official day off in quite some time, and I've had to play catch up on the two games I'm DMing here. One of which is currently a puzzle encounter that is taking too long for the players and they're getting a little frustrated by it. And the thing about it was I liked the puzzle and thought it was a good one. But I will try to speed things up and get caught up where I need to. Apologies again.)

No I'm actually enjoying the Chronicles campaign. I've just been caught up with work and everything else that's been going on. There were a few weeks in January where I was working 60 hour weeks, coming home to no Internet connection, so it was tough going for a little bit.
