1: Quiet on Set

You’re right, where she was staying is a good place to start. Daria, do you have access to personnel files for the set? We can pull her address and phone number from there. I can also try to piece together some leads once I get back to my office.

Cutting to the chase, Amanda picks up the stack of porn mags, flips them over, and then re-stacks them in the spot and order in which she discovered them to see the lurid title and subject contained within each one. When she is finished, she moves quickly to David's bed (cot?) and checks under it and between the mattress to see what else he had hidden in there.

When see is done with her snooping, Amanda quickly picks up her clip board, peeks out to see if the coast is clear, and proceeds through the back lot and into the sound stage again; clicking off her camera and audio feed for the time being.

Daria points her thumb at Otera, and replies to Shull, "He was dating her."

Well, David, that makes it easier. You can take us to her home. Did she do things like this often? Any favorite haunts of hers? People who hated her?

So far no one seemed to be particularly forthcoming with answers. It seemed suspicious to Spencer, like they were all hiding something. Who knows, maybe they just plain didn’t like the woman. He imagined there were no shortages of folks who would hate or envy an up and coming actress.

How about we walk and talk? Get a tour of the rest of the set. I’d like to see where she was working, get a sense of the scenes. Let’s see what’s behind all these doors eh?

Amanda looks concerned upon finding Tekroop hiding in the kitchenette set. It also reminds her, upon seeing the fake sink and faucets, that she needs to visit the real restroom and wash her hands. She doesn't want to consider what that goo was she has found in David's trailer.

She shakes her head at his question. "I don't think they're gone yet. Are you going to be alright, Mr. Tekroop? Why do these people put you in such a state, sir? I've fed David Otera to them."

If any details were there to be found, Spencer felt this was the right place to see them. He hoped something would click.

David walks with Spencer explaining everything that might be relevant. Verity was a nice enough girl, but David was beginning to grow more concerned about how this might affect him and the movie. He wanted her found just as much as everyone else.

"We like to try new Sushi restaurants, did a bit of shopping together, honestly we've been all over town. I wouldn't really say we had any 'special' spots."

David strained his mind to come up with any overlooked detail, and before he knew it he had followed Spencer all over the building.

Amanda nods. "I agree Mr. Tekroop. I know I'm just a lowly gopher guiding Mr. Otera to his appointments, but I can see it too. Empty heads of the wrong kind is a very astute observation, sir. I'll see what I can do about getting Jared Woodward out of his abode and back on set." Excusing herself, Amanda makes a quick trip to the restroom and washes her hands, as she contemplates how to best go about coaxing Jared from the safety of his home.

Daria follows Shull on his hunt around the set, only half listening to Otera’s running monologue. Her mind is on what Verity’s disappearance is going to mean for her own chances.

She stops when the other two climb the fake basalt set piece, standing on the flat surface she glances around.

Blake is following Spencer.

As she looks about her Daria feels uneasy, unsure of the surroundings. She is use to always feeling in control, so this sensation is not pleasant, or welcome.
