I have updated the Map now. It is set for combat and what you normally have in your hands. If that needs to be changed, then let me know.
Where can we find the map? It's not in the thread labeled "Maps".
Ah there is a subsection called "Maps" and the first map is the one of interest. Contains marching order and other info.

@Bubbles,@AnonGL I'm a Sabbath observer, so I will be offline from Friday evening until Saturday night. If Garrosh is certain he won't speak up and Davros is seriously considering going NPC, I'll try to post another response before this evening to keep the story going. Otherwise, I am waiting for one of the other two to respond.

@GeneCortess, what is your policy about consecutive or near consecutive posts? Some other DMs I have seen use a rule that at least one, two, or three people (including the DM?) must post before a character can post again. This ensures no one falls too far behind. On the other hand, with only three active players, that might be too restrictive. Also, it will probably take a few more interactions for me to get a better handle of what you as a DM want from me as a player. Thanks!

@Avraham Not yet, Davros in not currently planning anything, I just said my opinion as a player about the painted scene after considering everything that was described in game.

Anyhow, have fun with the event! (Cannot imagine what a real thing is like, even though Latvia is really into pagan holidays.)

Not pagan; more biblical :)

Thanks!

I like everyone to have a chance to play.

OK. How often to roll skill checks is completely up to the DM. I am used to DMs that want players to roll as often as possible. Your table expectation is different, fine. That’s what I meant about getting used to your style, which is more difficult when being dropped in to the middle of an existing adventure without being eased in. In game terms, as you yourself mentioned, Geoffrey the character is unaware of everything that has transpired, such as the foolish paladin charge that resulted in the massacre. I, the player, know it because I read the background, and so I am trying to get my character to know it without resorting to meta gaming. Hearing a threat of murder, it is eminently reasonable for a character to consider "was he blustering or was he serious". This is precisely what the insight check is for (see PHB under WIS skills). If that poses an impediment to your table style, please let me know your expectations so that I may better conform to them. For example, what would your preferred method be for my character to determine if Collins really is a cold blooded murderer, being that all he knows is that 1) there is some minor banditry on the road and 2) he has been "captured" by a professional group of people who do not appear to be (were not described as) thugs. I’d like to work with you as seamlessly as possible, obviously.
Further for this game, I will roll all insight roll hidden as they should be. You need only request.

Geoffrey should realize that Geoffrey is not an equal to Tom Collins. Status quotas. So, treating him as such would being ire alone due to his position. "Off with his HEAD". Bandits are not known to be good people, and it is easy to assume that a leader of such is also not a good person. Such a person holds that position by strength & power. All that should be obvious to you.

Refer him to "m'Lord" will not save you as you have treated him as an equal. Telling him stuff when he isn't asking doesn't go over well. Questioning him is not good. Such actions are obvious "No No" behaviors.

Big trouble in little China quote: "Otherwise, I will have both of you rowed off to the hell where people are skinned alive! It's that simple."

Yeah, Garrosh is likely not going to do much in this conversation, he's just not good with diplomacy. He considered just attacking with the hope killing the leader would cause the bandit group to disband/flee, but though there was also a good chance he'd escape or the bandits would choose vengeance instead, and so decided against it.

But right now if Geoffrey opens his mouth again he's going to be killed and Davros said what he said, so moving the story forward is up to you :)

Gotcha. So you see, that second Insight check was literally life saving :-P :-P.

Geoffrey is shutting the h*ll up right now!

We start a new section. Woot.

exca314. Approved and you know what your starter is with the Burgermeister is. You manage to get close to the camp but were caught but now you know where the others are that you were looking for.

Welcome to a cheese start.

By looks the last nibble for a new player hasn't panned out. I will soon close the recruitment doors, and we shall be running with 4 players shy if I in could in an NPC.
Aug 20, 2024 1:31 am
Woot. Another nibble. checking it out.

Nope. Luna_mothwing didn't reply. So, I closed the matter.

Hi, @GeneCortess. In case it isn't obvious, when I use cabin font, that indicates I am whispering or at least specifically trying to talk softly so as not to alert anyone not immediately around me.
