Rank starts at 1
Faction for Ratling is usually Imperium

My character will be a samurai-like Aeldari, if allowed, but I'm still not sure if a corsair or from a craftworld.

More fitting would be a corsair, I think. Speaking of samurai vibes, meaning arts & culture, albeit now more being a ronin...

Thinking about psychic ability, too. Okay, guess it will dilute character-play too much if the character is more than latent psychic.

Guess that's what I'd like to play; numbers will come soon, doom doesn't have the Aeldari-package ;-)

"To Ul-Khari, I am an echo that has already faded away. To the stars, I am dust that has not yet settled.
I already died on the day I left the path. Those who have faced death know no fear, only the duty of the moment.
My blade belongs to me, my end belongs to the void. I walk in darkness so that the light of my ancestors is not tainted by my shame.
But my last deed shall be souls. All the souls I can find, as a gift, snatched from She who thirsts."

An Aeldari samurai type definitely sounds cool! A Ranger could also be pretty thematic for that concept - they are on the Path of the Outcast, after all.

In terms of Aeldari samurai I'd probably suggest either a Striking Scorpion (although they're arguably more ninja than Samurai) or an Exodite.

I've put together my Skitarii girl:
Rho-Halax-872
Any thoughts on how to best tie her to the ship, Ysolde? If the ship has a tech-priest aboard having her be part of their retinue would be an easy way to fit her in. Otherwise. maybe at some point the Recolliger came across a Mechanicus Explorator vessel - either a wreck that they found her on in hibernation mode, or an active ship that traded her in exchange for salvage they deemed worth the price.

I like Mechanicus Exploratore vessel, she was found in hibernation mode. She wakes up and is basically told that she now owes her services to the ship in return for her rescue. Added bonus for her was likely a ton of old cogitators and even archeotech that no one had figured out how to re-program or get working.

[ +- ] Biby Quikcfinger dossier

Bigby Quickfinger were recently is highly trained and proficient, but been much relying on the many of the tools of covert warfare, readily employing Camouflage-cloaks, vox-links, combat webbing, noise suppressors, and anything else he managed to steal for battle field of even his own comrades. Up until recent...
<I guess a PC with proper skills to expose this Ratling has got too good equipment for his position may be involved in my PC backstory>

His past misdeeds were forgiven once he had volunteered all his ill-gotten gains to charitable concerns -- a gesture which still leaves painful memories. Mention of this is the only thing known to spoil his aim.

So can anyone help a player with little Lore understanding to finish my PC backstory. I guess he were recruited to fight with/for Astra Militarum.
After realizing he don't like the strict discipline of Astra Militarum he leaves/deserts/finds his way to join Scrap Hogg crew - that's much more comfortable environment for a Ratling.

Does it sound about right?

Ratlings usually make good thieves, and often end us as brokers in the militarum. It wouldn't be unusual for your PC to have made a name for himself as a scrapper and then, after deserting, being scouted by the Scrap Hogg.

A ratling guardsman could be having some shore leave while in transit on a void station, visiting the parts of port where abhumans go (the not-so-good-part). And then suddenly armed men storm into the bar, grab everyone and before you know it you are gang-pressed into service to a ship. Our ship!

Oh, and the Munitorum probably marked you down for desertion after not reporting for duty, so there's really no going back and explaining all that to the commissar. After all, innocence proves nothing.

Yeah, I think that's all correct.

Bigby is correct, though his connection to Astra Militarum is past and now he is rather in negative reputation with the faction.

Not that there ever have been Ratlings in good standing in the Astra Militarum... ^^
