what about the elvish trance?
and watches?

I’m down to run with the third option, especially if it makes things easier for you.

Same. Anything to make GM life easier so they can spend more time in the game with us dingbats and less time mathing.

#2 is how I've always viewed it, it makes the most sense narratively IMO. That said, if you want to run #3, then run #3.

Despite the literal reading of the rules, I have always been happy to say that a 4-hour elvish trance can count as a long rest. In fact, I suspect we've already played it that way in this game. I see no reason to change that. That being the case, whatever we decide upon for long rests in general would apply to elvish trances used as long rests...that is to say, while an elf can go into a trance at any time, only one trance can count as a long rest in the given period.

I'm not sure what you mean by "watches," though...is there a rule or ruling needed about watches?

I'm good with whichever option makes it easier for you the DM.

OK, I've updated the list of conventions (at the start of this thread) with the two clarifications: elven trances and long rests.

I did look into the jumping rules, found this calculator
The calculator is pretty handy. Faith's base jump height would be 4 feet (because of her STR mod). How high she could reach depends on how tall she is.
This raises an interesting question:

How tall are each of your characters?

Adran is 6 ft. 1 in. tall.
Apr 23, 2025 5:13 pm
6'
183 cm

I've always wanted to be shorter..... LOL

Y'all are so tall. o.O

Perspective
Irl I'm 6'4" (193cm) so I've always wanted to be shorter. So I could buy clothes anywhere. Plus, hopefully, I'd have smaller feet so I could get shoes too.

But you know what they say about a guy with big hands and feet.

I mean ... I'm 5'4" ... lol. So my statement stands.

That said, my ex was 6'1" and the runt of his family. His cousin was 6'7" and hugging him was the weirdest thing ever. Let me just headbutt your sternum, that's okay right? Hahaha

FYI, I had to make two judgment calls regarding Adran's lycanthropy; I'm explicitly stating them here.

1) Moonbeam forcing a shapechanger back into its original form is a unique case, unlike any of the other ways that a shapechanger reverts (it's usually when the new form is reduced to 0 HP). I've decided that the damage that Adran takes as a werewolf does not carry over to Adran the elf, except cosmetically (for the purposes of narration, he feels the burn of the Moonbeam, for instance, but the cumulative damage he took from poison and moonbeam as a werewolf has no actual effect on his elf hit points).

2) Adran moving out of the Moonbeam is NOT going to immediately force him to succeed on a CON save or immediately turn back into a werewolf again. I'm saying that a person afflicted with lycanthropy does not transform into that were-form involuntarily more than once a night. As a GM of Paranoia, I appreciate the comedy of the guy you spent several turns trying to save immediately turning back into a monster and starting the cycle all over again, but I don't think it's nearly as much fun when each turn takes days of real time. One could certainly make a case that he should have to save or transform as soon as he leaves the Moonbeam, but then this entire adventure would be occupied with the heroes trying to manage Adran's health rather than saving the city. So I'm deciding that no, it doesn't work that way. He's basically succeeding on his CON saves against lycanthropy for the rest of the night.

Sounds good to me!
