2. The First Delve

Each inventory slot can hold 100 coins, regardless of their denomination. So 120 coins will require two slots.

"120? Even better! I wish there was somewhere safe in this place that we could hide our loot, I hate to carry it around."

Looking at Ricard "We have the sanctuary."

Pickles smoothers a giggle at the jab made at Ricard, 'He has a good point. You can upgrade your armour Ricard, and I, my bow. I feel this maybe done best above ground though, and maybe we can take Sister Jessica and Johann with us to at least give their souls freedom from this place.'

Luther nods"A little time up top would be good for all I am sure."

Ricard nods along with the ribbing with a good natured smile,

"Yes the sanctuary, but I'm hesitant to leave so much coin in the open, regardless of how holy the site. It has been many days without sunlight, let us make the trip back to town for some much needed gear and rest. And proper food..."

"It will be hard to transport them on foot, and I feel some sort of way about disturbing them after they've been lain. I leave the decision up to the rest of you, I understand the desire to have them buried above."

"Among my people, the tradition is that a soul cannot rest if it is left underground." Gabbro comments, "But I understand that some races practice something called 'burial.'" Gabbro doesn't quite manage to suppress a shiver. "I don't know what they would have wanted, but it seems...disrespectful to leave their bodies down here. Not that I believe their souls would be unable to find the sky for eternity, you understand. Not at all! Nope, not me! That's just a superstition. Heh. Heh...it's just that it might be a comfort to their families to know that we brought them back for the proper rites. I'm thinking of their families..."

Nodding"The sanctuary is a holy place inside this hell and Jess will be well looked after but that is up to the party."

Pickles looks at the body of Johann, "If you think Sister Jessica is happy then leave her, but this place has tortured Johann enough for one life. Let us not let it continue in the after."

Ricard agrees to bring Johan above with the group and to leave the others where they are already resting in state.

Let me try to summarise where I think we are …

- The plan is to leave Stonehell for rest, recuperation and to re-equip.

- You will bring the body of Johann with you (but leave the bodies of the other fallen Hellions, Bea and Jessica).

Assuming these are your intentions, you’re going to need to find a route out of the dungeon …

Gabbro suggests a route using his map.

"It seems like the most direct route is to go back south through the 'Kobold Delivery Room,' then east to the corridor, head north and then proceed east through the Desert Room, then go north from the Pillar Room, which...should connect with the western leg of this big trunk corridor heading north until we turn east to pass by the dwarves again. Through the door, take the first left - skirt this pit! - then turn north, and we're back at the Grand Foyer."



"That's maybe not the safest route, but it is the most direct."

Luther will nod"I like direct."

Pickles just nods in the background pretending that he knows what they are talking about.

Re: the map - I'll just point out that you're not in the "Goblin Camp"; you're in a hitherto visited-but-unmapped room, accessed through the door just to the west of "Feet Statue".

But I get the gist of your plan.

Gabbro shakes his head. "No, that's wrong. Sorry, everyone - I got..." Gabbro trails off, realizing that if he admits he got confused, the party will be completely lost, as he's the only one of them mapping. So he continues, "...I got it wrong. My mistake. We're here on the map; the most direct route would take us out past the feet statue again, continue north around the edge of the trap door (holding our noses), and from there, it's pretty much the same as what I said a moment ago."



If no one objects, Gabbro will head out. Though they have been through this particular portcullis maybe half a dozen times already, he thinks nervously about the green slime as he hefts the portcullis to the room with the feet.

Pickles happily follows Gabbro, his mind thinking that with a little luck he’ll be dinning on some really good by this evening.
