Charles Sovereign XXIII is one of 497 survivors of the Sovereign Citizens' Brigade. Flash clones of Zacharcy Yun, nee Sovereign, the Sovereign Citizens' Brigade was an elaborate heist intended to revive Zachary as the apex of a world whose ruling class was composed of his clones. After taking control of and re-orbiting the colonial creche of a freshly settled world, Zachary began to engineer and train his conquering army.

Charles, part of the third batch (preceded by Adam and Brian, and succeeded by David and Edwin), was engineered for military duty. With high physical and technical aptitude, he underwent accelerated training and education in the creche's state of the art immersive VR environments, repurposed to build a war machine, and he was on the front line when DoJ/HR arrived to put an end to the madness.

Charles was recovered from the wreckage, and extensively deprogrammed and re-educated following the incident. When he volunteered for military duty, his case managers were torn. On the one hand, it was an attachment to a painful and controversial past. On the other, it was a profession he had trained for his whole life, and one at which he excelled. The Navy's eager response to his aptitude tests tilted the scales, and he took up arms once again, this time to save people from the grim exploitation he had been part of.

0.0, or "Zero Zero" is an effective, minimalist adaptation of the Everest frame. Its sensor head is pressed deep between two vast intakes for the vectored thrust nozzles that dominate its spinal assembly. Two bulky, squat, digitigrade legs are designed for a long, loping stride and absorbing the shock of landing from its bursts of powered flight. Two short armatures fixed with turreted weapons can unfold an equally minimal set of manipulators. Combined with its wide, flat proportions for improved aerodynamic performance, the whole affair gives the appearance of a hybrid between a walking tank and an attack helicopter.

Its livery is similarly minimal, in Navy Black with utility holds and emergency access outlined in a slightly brighter gray. The only ostentation is a sky blue stripe, just a few inches wide, painted slightly off-center, from the squared-off nosecone, ending before the port primary thruster cowling.

Much to the chagrin of any technicians who have to move the chassis for servicing, almost every safety has been overridden by default, and its thrusters have been carefully tuned and calibrated for mobility assistance. It is so twitchy to operate and willing to launch itself at full speed in any direction that it has caused numerous accidents when not switched to maintenance mode. Its aggressive response to input and tightly tuned controls gives it unparalleled agility, and makes it almost impossible to pin down with direct fire.

Anita is tall and thin. She has long black hair worn in braids, and a narrow pointed face. She has dark eyes, and ears that seem to stick out a little, making her self conscious. She has a tattoo on her right arm that’s faded making it hard to see against her dark skin. Her outfit choice tends to involve a tank top and fatigues, with optional combat jacket.

Anita is an enlistee for the GMC mercenary company. As soon as she turned sixteen, she signed up. It’d been a tradition in her family as long as she could remember. Her grandfather had been a sergeant, her mother and father lieutenants, and both of her older sisters were corporals. Everyone signed up, and everyone served.

Coming from a military family, she was raised on a diet of hand to hand drills and combat tactics. The books she read, when she wasn’t nose deep in super soldier comics, were military history and nonfiction.

Unlike her siblings though, she first arrived in service in the motor pool. She trained as a mechanic, learning to fix service vehicles for transporting mechs and troopers. She got a reputation as a junior grease head, until one of her sisters left her an out of commission hand-me-down.

Since then, she worked on the mech which would become Midoriko. At first it was only a little bit at a time, but that became more and more complex. Adding weapons, systems, replacing things. Eventually, once it was ready, she set out as a scout for GMC.

Midoriko is lower than a standard Everest, built more for stability than utility. Its crew compartment has been expanded and heavily personalised with almost an entirely new layout. Around its torso are a number of compartments for ammunition and other items, reminiscent of the tactical webbing a soldier would carry. On its back is a long barrelled lance, and below that is a hive for microdrones featuring a compact hanger and fabricator. Across the face of the machine is a painting of a stylised green girl, around sixteen, pointing a finger gun and Anita’s signature.
