Zero Charisma

This is a RPG related dark comedy about a fanatical GM and his players from 2013. I just happened to stumble upon it as it was suggested to me on youtube (saw the trailer). I watched it and comedy seems to have a lot more value when we can relate and laugh because we may all know someone like the GM in this film (probably not to the same level, but still...relatable). Very funny because of its plausibility.

If you haven't seen this gem, I'd check it out. It's occasionally available for free on Amazon Prime (I think its free with ads right now).

I like how the main character is a nerd, while the villain is a slightly more charismatic nerd.

Good flick, watched it with my husband who got me into TTRPGS and his response at the end was "This is so real, it hurts." I think many game masters can relate to this scene, played very well for laughs:

Player: "I want to roll to seduce her!"

GM: "I don't think you want to do that, buddy, this sorceress burned down your whole village, remember?"

Player: "Oh, I think I do!" ::player beside him blows on his dice for luck before he rolls, both of them with a twinkle in their eyes::

GM (suppressing a sigh and clearly winning an inner argument with himself) : "Fine, if you roll a 19 or 20." ::watches rolled dice spin intently, mouth slowly falling open as it wavers::
