My name is Robert and I'm a web developer by trade.

I used to do play by post years ago, which was where I actually got my start roleplaying. I didn't get into more traditional roleplaying till this past year. Finding/starting a group that wants to play, has the time, and is near enough has been really difficult. So I figured I'd look for some play by post forums again. I heard about Gamer's Plane on The RPG Academy and figured I'd check it out.

Lately my interests have involved Fate and Edge of the Empire. I can GM, but I'd much rather be a player.

Hi RustInPieces, and welcome. I've been hearing lots about EotE, how is it at capturing the Star Wars feel?

Welcome RustInPieces! Glad to have more players aboard the s.s.Gamersplane! (ok, it's not actually a boat).

Qralloq, I wish I knew. That's the group I've been trying to assemble, and I'm getting the feeling that my group has fallen thru. From everything I've read in the rule book, and a few of the actual plays that hooked me, the game is excellent. I just wish I had the firsthand experience to say that. Maybe there's enough folks here interested in starting a game.

XpLtd, thanks for the welcome. I say we "appropriate" a battleship of some kind, and dub it the SS Gamer's Plane.

Maybe it'd be easier to get a plane and name it "Gamers" :3

Welcome RustInPieces! Glad to have you on board.

Edge of the Empire is FANTASTIC. Its one of the reasons it was high on my list to build onto the site. I'm still trying to figure out how to legally use EotE dice on the site.

Also, why a ship or an airplane? We need to get all our mages together and create a new demiplane. Thus shall it be!

I'm no lawyer, but from my understanding of copyright law the only thing they can copyright is the symbology. The concept, statistics, etc shouldn't be able to be copyrighted. So long as you use your own symbols you should be in the clear. And if you don't want to make your own, this place might have something suitable.

Thanks for the welcome.

That's my understanding too; I have a friend at a law office who's arranged to get me a consult, just to make sure. Wouldn't want GP to be in legal trouble before it even got off the ground :D
