Yes, I maintain the list of current and past party members in the first post of the character creation thread in every game I run.

Sorry for the less than stellar posting pace: I’ve entered my last week of my stay on the other side of the Atlantic and am having a sort of social-obligations-crunch that is curtailing my free time massively. I’ll try to post when I can, but don’t let me slow you down. I’ll be back home a week from now, and will be able to resume a regular posting schedule

All that said, a number of the L1 PCs have enough XP to train to level 2...something that does require taking a trip back to Hochoch. So it would make sense to return, train, and come back...if you think the value of gaining levels offsets the cost that a 6-day delay (the round trip plus training) would take...

Don't think Morton is one of those Lucky Level 1 PC's. I think Morton is at 235 EXP of the needed 300 EXP for level 2.

It is true, both Morton and Ember currently have 235 XP (and Lyrel less than that), but each of you (including Lyrel) could exceed the 300 XP threshold very quickly.

Don't forget that, as one of the key rules to emulate more of an AD&D experience for this classic AD&D module, we're using the optional rule of "milestones for additional XP."

According to my notes, Lyrel is at XP : 165/300 to next level, currently 55 % of the way

Myrtha is 17xp away from level 3…

Ah. Hard to find but I'm fairly sure to level took time & coin but can't find the spot for it. I did note that Morton is able to multiclass into anything except a wizard. Guess that I need to be thinking about this soon if he is to multiclass or remain in his class.

FYI: pretty much all the unusual rules are laid out in the initial post in the "Rules" thread. The information for gaining levels is under "training to gain levels." Here's what it says: "Training involves working with a trainer and costs 15GPx(target level) and a number of days equal to the target level. So training to level 2 will cost a character 30 gold eagles and two days, level 3 would cost 45 gold eagles and take three days, etc."

I've asked elsewhere, but I'll ask here, too: have any of you heard from or about MaJunior in any other forum or site (such as the GP Discord chat)? He's been gone for weeks, and I'm starting to worry. I don't mind playing Theran during his absence, but I don't want to keep playing a party member as an NPC if the player is just gone. I'd much prefer to have all the party members played by players, naturally.

On a related note, don't worry - I am preparing a somewhat-graceful way to extricate Arya from the party so another player can join in Nebula's place.

In another game that I'm in, MaJunior is on the list having action taken as his absence has already been noted.

Note that, regardless of who carries, uses, or ends up selling what, the experience points for this treasure will be divided equally among all the party members.
Woot.

Sorry to say I haven’t heard from MaJunior either. Then again, I’m not a very active member of the GP community so I wouldn’t be aware of anything.

Who would Morton believe would aid him in training for a Warlock? Seems that time has come.

The class trainers are all shown in the Cast of Characters: Dirk Gerald is the warlock available for training. He's trained Xana in the past.

What remains for the party is to determine whether they are going to:

Since I'm in the position in this game of playing two of the party members at the moment, I'm going to post as if I'm a player to discuss our move here. What do you think we should do?

There is the possibility that the people from the Inn may not enter the trees to look for us after all. Whether they do or not is probably coming down to a Reaction roll, unless we attract their attention further. So it could work out for us to just hunker down and not move/make any noise. Or we'd just be sitting there if they do come.
If we do want to consider moving further away, I'll point out that, while we have a couple of people who are generally good at sneaking around - Chase and Ember - Theran is not good at being Stealthy (straight d20 roll), and both Myrtha and Arya are actively BAD at it (DISADV from armor). With a sneakier group, we might try something clever like climbing up onto the roof of the wine house to hide, but it seems unlikely to work with so many clanky characters. We could try hiding behind the mill or even break inside - the sound the wheel and the river makes covers a lot of noise - but we don't know whether people live at the mill. If people do, how will they react to people breaking into their home? As a party of experienced adventurers, we could intimidate/negotiate with the drunks from the Inn, and are likely able to best them in a fight. But they could raise the alarm - which they haven't yet - and Aanbo's point about them maybe not being evil like Lhari and Hamiff is true; we probably don't want to support the cult's accusations by harming innocents. If we run for it, they will know that we were here; they might raise the alarm, and they might give chase (though we could probably outrun and/or evade them as they are tired and drunk).

What do you think we should do?

I am for hunkering down in the wood or sprinting to the trees by the lake shore with the wheel covering our noise.

Morton goes with whatever the most of us are doing.
