LOL caps lock for the title. I hate typing on laptops. Stupid trackpad always picks up my meaty fists and then does funky shit to whatever I'm typing. But my desktop died Friday night and I have no choice. My son, who built the desktop for me about 2 years ago, spend all day yesterday trying to fix it but couldn't figure out why it wasn't working.Couldn't get windows to load, stuck in a perpetual loop. No error messages (that I'm aware of) to clue us in to what's wrong or why. Blargh.

For some reason this reads like a copypasta. 🤔
On a serious note, have you tried fiddling with BIOS, like booting in safe mode? Can sometimes help if it's specifically the OS which is being funky, Windows likes behaving weirdly sometimes.

It's not copypasta; it's me testing stage with stream of consciousness typing on the laptop as my hands grazed the trackpad. Since then, I've plugged a keyboard into the laptop. Kinda therapeutic venting.

Oh yeah, we totally fiddled around with BIOS. Can't even get it to boot in safe mode. Tried re-installing windows, but it failed within seconds. Best we can get with it is the blue boot fail screen.

Yeah, I figured it's not one, it just reads like one. Probably precisely because it is a steam of consciousness - for what are most copypastas if not that? :D

And oof, that sucks. I remember having a similar problem with Win 8 on my laptop, blue screens and infinite loadings. But that one, if I remember correctly, was caused by a battery problem of all things. Sometimes the ways of these errors are beyond comprehension.
I hope you find some resolution; or at least, you know, don't lose anything important with all the reinstallations and fixing processes!

.. Maybe you can try installing Linux, just to see if it gets better results than Windows. ;...;

Ahhhh Linux. My father used to tout the virtues of Linux, even though he had to live in a Microsoft world. It's always something to consider.

Thanks for the well wishes for resolution. We're working on it this evening. Progress is slow.
