Ever had an idea and needed to get it out? This is basically that. Been wanting to try and run a game that focused on characters fears, how would coming into contact with them over and over effect them? Would they grow past them? Would they break? Also I find horror stories fun.

For the game system I was thinking Obscure since that was made for horror or maybe Fate; something that can let you make a more 'normal' character if that makes sense? Of course if anyone has another system to suggest I'll look into it.

Looking for 3-6 people who are interested and if this gets off the ground at least 2 posts a week. Oh and since this would be a horror game there will be mature themes...like everywhere.

Don't have experience with those systems but I am always up for a good horror game.

I would love to be considered.
I don't know anything about those systems also but I am in a learning mood.

I would love to play something horror. Did you have any thoughts about subgenre or setting? Personally I would love to do body horror but I understand that that isn't everyone's cup of bile.

Well in terms of setting it's going to modern world. As for subgenre I plan to explore many different fears. This does include body horror, the dark, tall places, being buried alive, the uncanny valley and hopefully much more

Damnit, you talked me into it. I can't resist a good horror story. I'm familiar with Fate, but not Obscure.

How tall? Office high-rise tall?

Speaking of the Obscure, there is a game that recently started using that system, of which I was part of for a bit. We made few different Obscure char-sheets, so that front is covered!

Well seems there is interest so I'll make a game. (Also this is my first time on this site so bare with me)

Questions:
1. I see you've closed the listing, does that mean everyone here is playing?

2. Are we using Obscure or Fate?
2a. If we're using obscure, where can I find the rules/sourcebook/information I need to play the game?

3. Is it appropriate for the game to be public if we're gonna run a horror game? We should at least have a trigger/content warning somewhere if so.

4. You're probably already planning on it but I wanted to mention something just in case; can we use lines and veils and other safety tools?

I don't think there are any quickstarts or official free materials for Obscure, apart from character's sheets on game's itch page here. From what I remember being told it is rules-light game, so I don't imagine much of a learning curve.

I found this forum post claiming to have a free version of the rules. Which then leads to this page with the Xcore ruleset, which is presumably used for Obscure. I'm a little sceptical, as it's an unofficial source with a rules system not inherent to Obscure, so decided to ask. Also this thread is labeled Fate core so this probably isn relavent anyways, I just wanted to cover my bases.

Sorry, I tried to make the game room last night but some things went wrong so will make it again in a little bit. We will be going with Fate since the core rules are free.

Okay I think I have it all set up? Again apologies this is my first time making a game on this site.

The game does exist, but you need to invite us to it.
