Avatar Not Updating

I've been trying to update my avatar, and although it updates on the profile page, it doesn't change in the top right corner of the post, or on the header of my posts (old or new).

It usually is a cache problem, I think: the updated avatar takes a while to show up. You can try clearing your browser cache manually.

Could also be a file size issue. Maybe too large?

I've tried avatars of varying images, keeping in mind the 150x150 minimum.

Try looking at it with a different browser, your phone, etc. I also have trouble with PNGs sometimes; try JPEGs.

rename the avatar file. I have found if you reupload a file with the same name, nothing happens. Properly a protection from multiple identical uploads.

I've cleared cookies, renamed the file, changed to jpeg, kept size down, made sure the dimensions are in line with the site guidelines, and it's still not updating.

Scratch that, it's updated on another browser.

You can always try incognito / private mode on a browser as well -- that will bypass the cache that's giving you issues. At least you'll be able to see if it took!
