Interest check: Dungeon Crawl Classics

Hey there, everyone! I’m looking to get into a DCC game here and I’ll run one if I have enough interest.

Content Warnings for topics that are part of this adventure and will come up are: Violence/Death, Body Horror, Mutations.

I would love to find a group of three to four players who are interested in playing (learning) Dungeon Crawl Classics and who are willing to get invested in their characters and in the pursuit of gold & glory.

No knowledge of the system is required, but the QuickStart ruleset will be available for download and I’m happy to any answer questions in the OOC thread. I actually teach new players quite often as member of the RoadCrew!

I am aiming for a post frequency of about once per day from the players (I’ll likely post more than that). If you skip a day from time to time, that's completely fine but regular posting is one of the best determinants of a lasting game. This game could last about two to three months and give players a satisfying conclusion.

In order to apply, simply reply to this thread or send me a private message. I would like to hear about your experience on Gamers Plane (or lack thereof) as well as with this system. As I said, no experience with either is required and I will actually prioritize new players. That said, experienced members of the site are also encouraged to apply and even if you don't get into the game immediately, I would love to keep you in mind in case someone drops out along the way.

Well that's convenient. I literally just started running DCC myself to try it out. A chance to get the player side of the game would be great! I've been a pretty active player on this site for a few years now.

My first game was yesterday as the Judge. I'm definitely new, but I probably have an advantage over someone that has absolutely no experience.

Now, since you haven't mentioned what you plan to run. I should mention that I just ran Hole in the Sky and have a vague idea of Sailors on the Starless Sea and Portal Under the Stars as I was considering them for the previously mentioned game. So that might disqualify me entirely. If not, happy to be in the consideration!

Definitely interested! No experience or much knowledge but willing to learn.

I plan on running a funnel if we have mostly new players to DCC. Alternatively, I need to playtest an adventure that I’ll be publishing later this year.

Give the QuickStart ruleset a once over and see if this appeals. I’d love to run a zero-level funnel to give you the experience that hooked many of us on DCC.

I would love to play this. I've always wanted to play DCC.

I have been on GP for a couple of years now and would love to try DCC. I have been invited to a couple in the past but they stopped before they got started for varying reasons.

I'm very much interested in being a part of a DCC game I've read through it, but don't have any practical experience on my hands, so it would be nice to play. I've wanted to be a part of that funnel experience.

Oh yes! This is something I would love to sink my teeth into! A campaign utilizing average joes with little special skills sounds like a perfect blend of challenge and fun.

I've been playing in GP for some years, plus I played in a DCC funnel IRL a few months back (cannot remember the title).

I love playing loveable losers destined to die! I've been on GP for four months shy of a year, and the only DCC experience I have is in a campaign that was over almost before it started. I did however run a MCC one-shot in the past, so I should have the gist of the rules.

The hunger is strong. I’ll put together my plan over the next week and then launch with whoever is still with us! Since there are 7 people interested, and the funnel starts as a mob, I’ll let everyone kick off with three peasants.

I’ll create a character thread for you each to post a screenshot of your four sheet. We will figure out if culling numbers is needed then.

If there's still some room, I'd like to give it a go! I played a funnel once years ago, and it was a lot of fun. I've been on GP for 6 months now, and I'm currently in a game of Nimble with mathias and kwll.
