PC finishing

Thread to talk about your character choices and choosing from pre-gens.
Apr 20, 2026 8:49 am
The pre-gens are in linked rules starting from page 6. There are: Soldier, Spacehand, Entertainer, Trader, Explorer, Gambler, Pilot, Doctor -> available to choose from.

Everyone, please state your preferences in priorities from 1 (highest) to (max) 3. And idea/justification for your first PC's career choice.

I think those stats are prepared for humans PCs. If someone really want to play some alien... please say why and what kind you are looking for. I may have a pre-gen for you.
Apr 20, 2026 8:52 am
We will be using this PC sheet. -> just expand it, and there is a button to create your character on Gamers Plane at the top to the right. It's the place you will input your chosen PC stats and submit to this game.

I like many of those. I'm drawn first to Gambler, then Pilot then Soldier.
Apr 20, 2026 4:35 pm
Greetings! I've thought about it for a bit, so here's my priority list:
1.Soldier
2.Entertainer
3.Doctor
Apr 20, 2026 9:53 pm
Hello! Excited for this. I'll go:

1) Pilot
2) Gambler
3) Soldier
Apr 21, 2026 12:28 am
Okay, Don't mind paying anything so I will go with a list that doesn't interfere with other first choices.

1) Doctor
2) Explorer
3) Spacehand

Perfect! As it looks we don't have any conflicting choices! :)
So it looks that:
- Qralloq is playing a Gambler,
- Quark_Venture - a Soldier,
- dabaggins - a Doctor
- KingHarkinian - a Pilot

Looks like a proper "spaceship crew" - team:)

In the meantime: please start to create your PCs on GP and submit them to this game. Perfectly would be to use this sheet , but if you don't have time right now to fill in your chosen PC's stats to this sheet (preferred way), please post at least the "print screen" from the PDF into the sheet. And you will be able to gradually fill your GP's sheet later.

Next steps:
1. (required) Please describe the concept of your PC. I.e. what "kind" of Gambler Qralloq's PC will be? We move from "a Gambler" to "the Gambler" :) I think few(3-5) sentences would be enough. But if you feel like: you can add longer "backstory" too. I need this to "feel" your PCs a little more and probably will use this in some descriptions (NPC reactions?).
2. (optional - as you can provide this in-game) describe how your PC look and/or provide some art you like

After that I think we will be ready to start our first mission :)

Speaking of art. I love "an old school vibe" for some PC's art in one of the books:

But please, DON't feel restricted to this style in any way! :)

FYI... In regards to filling out your character sheet I found a quick work-around. Just take a screenshot of the character sheet from the PDF and the text of the character form from Gamers Plane and then paste these into ChatGPT, Claude or whatever AI you may use and ask it to fill out the sheet for you. Seemed to work for me. :)
Apr 22, 2026 6:45 am
Yes it worked almost perfectly. While reviewing it I noticed it only left armor and weapons damage - I have filled in them for you. Last thing for you to do would be adding your gear to the sheet on GP and you will have all data from the PDF :)

PC accepted into the game, now waiting for few words about who he is in your eyes?

Waiting for other PC sheets and info to continue. But not rush from my side as this is busy week for me -> just don't want any players to loose enthusiasm:)

Hey! Thanks to @dabaggins for the tip, I've filled up the sheet much quicker than I would've manually.

Please tell me if I've done things properly though, as it is my first time doing this. Some stuff may be missing cause of the AI.

While you review that, I've prepared a character backstory for Cielo Rourke (Which is the name of the character).

# Cielo Rourke, was born on the distant planet of Eirene, where he grew up and lived. After training for 12 years in the infantry, he was deployed as a part of an elite unit, tasked with protecting 'Xilus Trachis' — the chief of "Ministry of Interplanetary Communications". However, 3 years ago, disaster struck as a group of advanced killer robots managed to infiltrate the Headquarters — assassinating Xilus Trachis and wiping out the whole unit, with the sole survivor being Rourke. However, it often occured to Rourke that he would've much preferred to share the same consequences as his fellow unit mates, as he often questions himself why he was the only one left behind. Now, 3 years later, he has joined Concord, a union of stellar nations with the advancement of civillization in mind — in order to seek after whatever was responsible for the catastrophe, and to redeem himself from his failure to protect his once colleagues. Though trauma still follows him, as he wonders often, "It should have been me". But as he tries to let go of his past, he now spares no effort in trying to protect others — in order to prove to himself that he isn't the failure he believes himself to be.

I think I'm pretty proud of this. Do note that anything is adjustable, this is practically the base idea.

Mobius was born on a distant moon as a beneficiary of a generic lottery. In the closed system where birth and immigration were strictly controlled, his parents won the right to a single child, and he was the result.

This chance beginning was impressed upon him from an early age. He was born under a lucky sign, he always thought, and quickly that became his motto.

Mobius is a brash, curious and somewhat risk taking man. Sometimes the charm and chance pay off, sometimes it doesn't.

It's the latter that landed him on the Nebula Bounty, as he sought to put distance between himself and a never discussed source of recent trouble on Vegas Prime. His skills lend him to assist the crew in negotiation of deals and contacts.

Quark_Venture, glad you found it helpful.

Still working on my background hope to have it posted tomorrow.
Apr 23, 2026 8:20 am
Lol... with morning rush I messed up things a little:/ Somehow - when I was checking Qralloq' PC I thought it was dabaggins'... Hope Qralloq will no mind I edited his sheet?
@Quark_Venture yes, indeed your PC data in the GP's custom sheet looks properly. There are only two mistakes that AI has made:
1. 11mm charge rifle - damage type is HI
2. also it didn't filled in your gear.

The stats are correct... BUT by using AI your sheet have lost editing capabilities - in original version most of the fields/stats are editable, and AI turned them to read only. But worry not! We can start this way and if we will need to edit something on your sheet I will help you make the field editable again. Do you know how to fill in the gear in your sheet?

PC accepted into the game.

Great backstory! I think I will have some ideas of using it! :)

Qralloq -> great concept too! I like how you connected Mobius' very existence with the luck factor! You seem ready to start the game. As is Quark_Venture.
@dabaggins take your time, but I think we should aim at starting our RPs on coming Monday. So let's try to solve all tasks with your PCs and answer any questions that you may have until then, so the start will be smooth.

Waiting for your PC sheet to be submitted.
@KingHarkinian how is it going for you? Do you need any help with something?

That's fine with me, I hadn't finished, leaving the weapons until after I had a chance to reread the rules once more.

The son of a prominent Concord admiral, Dash Briscoe always felt destined to soar amongst the stars. An exemplar student at the Academy, Dash made a name for himself leading the daring Azure Squardon in countless sorties against the Serin-Ru. Fleets of destroyers, heavily-defended space stations, in-atmosphere bombing runs- no mission proved too difficult for Dash and his wingmen. So when an officer denied him permission to engage the enemy during a tactical retreat, Dash took it personally. Only three of the twelve that joined him on that run returned in one piece, and only Dash was spared a court-martial. Everyone knew it was only his mother's influence that kept him out of a cell. In a last ditch effort to salvage his reputation, and maybe even avenge the souls his pride had doomed, Dash volunteers for the Lancelot's dangerous mission to rescue the Concord ambassador Kestrul.

KingHarkinian:
PC accepted. Checked the stats, all are ok, only armor, weapons and gear missing, but we can get back to it when they will be needed.

Love your avatar (others are equally cool! :) ).

I like your backstory! A road to redemption we have here :)
Ok, so only we miss @dabaggins PC and story now. Due the fact I will be traveling through weekend we will start RP and the whole game on Monday, but from that day I will be able to post daily (until Friday inclusively at least).
Please feel free to ask me anything about the game, rules or other things, lets try to solve any doubts before Monday, so we will be aiming at smooth start :)

I'm exiceted for this game! As I find those rules very interesting, granual and the old school vibe of the world is also of my liking. I always "play to see what happens" (even before I read about the term from PbtA games) so you can expect some freedom from my side for your PCs (as long as it will be contained in logic, physics and standard harder-scifi boundaries) :) And from other side the rules with many degrees of success and nice gradual steps for difficulty should provide us with some narrative directions:)

Thanks again for joining this game, I have always wanted to try it! :)

Here is my character:

Dr. Colin Sims never intended to become a doctor. He only needed a place to disappear. Raised in the blind spots of station life, Colin learned early that survival often came down to access. So he taught himself to hack the systems. What began as a way to stay one step ahead eventually gave him an escape route: a medical school database that no one was watching closely enough. Colin inserted himself into the records expecting nothing more than a room, regular meals, and a place to stay hidden. Instead, he found a calling he had never planned for. At first he was only trying to avoid being exposed but medicine proved to be more than a disguise. He had the temperament for it. The deeper he got, the more real it became.

Now Colin serves as the doctor and resident hacker aboard the Nebula Bounty, where he keeps the crew patched together in more ways than one. He trusts competence more than credentials and results more than procedure, and though he rarely speaks about his past, it has left him with little patience for institutions that decide who matters and who does not. Beneath the guarded manner, however, is a man who genuinely wants to save lives. Colin may have entered medicine under false pretences, but everything he became after that is real.

dabaggins: great backstory! I love this twist of hacker becoming a doctor! :)

A chcecked your PC sheet too: indeed the AI filled in the proper stats, but as in other case your sheet lost editablity during the "AI treatment" :) But we will eventually fix it when the need will arise !
Ok, we are ready I can see! Writing some additional info and text in RP thread, unlocking it and... we go straight into the action! :)

You do not have permission to post in this thread.
