IC The Dungeon

Upon waking up and receiving a bad feel for this underground place, she quickly gathers her needed equipment and gears up for adventuring.

Swish is 5'2" lean Elf wearing leather with two rapiers & a belt pouch hanging her weapon belt. She in explorer's outift. Down in her boot, she hoards away a dagger. Add on a backpack with a hooded lantern & bedroll, and she is ready to travel. (AC 19, 13 HP)

Swish asks Blu, "You alright there Blu? " and followed by, "Someone is going to regret doing this to me. "

The candle light is rather lacking and she will use her hooded lantern for light unless someone else has a better idea. She would rather not carry the hooded lantern as she is very much a TWF (Two Weapon Fighter) combatant.

The young human with the severe haircut and scruffy clothing composes himself, having checked over his gear, and spent some time leafing through the scrolls which seem to fill a large part of his backpack.
"Now that we’ve established that we all seem to be in a similar situation and that our best hope of survival appears to be banding together against whatever awaits beyond these doors, it seems proper introductions are appropriate." He bows respectfully to each of his companions. "I am Brother Lam, of the Zealots of the Written Word. I am a humble monk with a modest interest in the arcane. I’m a righteous man on a simple mission, to gather knowledge new to my Order, and I do not understand what has brought us here. But, here we are. Let us see what we can make from these notes…"
"Knee height suggesting short stature… eggs, suggesting bird, or maybe reptile or amphibian… poor language, suggesting limited education… reference to orcs and goblins as others, suggesting that we are immediately dealing with neither, but some kin able to associate with them… and the fact that none of us has been robbed of our possessions, ruling out robbery as a motive and supporting the apparent conclusion of vengeance. Well, it is hasty and likely flawed, but my initial conclusion is that we have been, I think the phrase is ‘set up’, by kobolds. I have no recollection of intentionally consuming their flesh or eggs, but the catering on the last day I recall was rather strange - did you all have a similar experience? I wonder if a pack of kobold-kind were butchered and served to us for breakfast? I’ve no recollection of knowingly even seeing such flesh or eggs before, never mind cooked, and I should be most surprised if any of you had, too, so we’d no way of knowing beforehand, but ignorance is mitigation, not defence, and if we are wronged, then so to my way of thinking are the kobolds. I feel a desire for very stern questioning of the caterers, should we ever have the opportunity. Unfortunately, it seems we may have to engage in some… conflict, to gain that opportunity."

Blu comes back to dwarven consciousness. Gathering his stout self, our dwarven fellow stands up. He needn’t come far up from dungeonous floor - he’s barely over four feet tall!

Ack! Well now, I’ll be ok, Swish! How in blazes did we get down here, any ol’ ways?! Aye, whomever did dis is gonna be payin’ fer it, dat I can tell ya!

Blu returns the monk’s soliloquy with customary dwarven (Hmph)!

Well met ta ya den, I ‘spose. Brudder Lam, ya say?! I’m Bluadin Blonderbeard, o’ de blonde-bearded Blonderbeards! Friends jus’ call meh Blu. I guess you can be callin’ meh Blu!

Looking over to Brother Lam, "I'm Swish & your rather loud."

To Blu, "I don't like being trapped. Exploring here doesn't do much good without an exit."

"Well met, Blu, Swish," says Brother Lam in a stage whisper. "You raise an excellent point; it will serve us well to be stealthy, since we have both little idea what we may face, and no safer position to withdraw to. Perhaps we should begin by listening at each door, in case that gives us any clues about what to expect beyond?"

Blu stammers and gazes brown bulging eyes warily about. He waddles over to the pile of damp rotting hay, and attempts to extract the backpacks.
Well now, what have we ‘ere, exclaims our dwarven fellow. Almost as though he’s found sone sort of treasure in its own right!

Gotta celebrate all life’s little successes.

A female Dwarf with long braided hair, A partial breastplate with a red tabard and orange sun emblems on her shoulders. Her light mace was tied approaches the group "I am Dawn Singer (rank in the Pelor church) Diesa Loderr, I am honored to meet you" as she slings her backpack over her shoulder.

"Let's hope that honor manages to let us see another day. Appears someone is betting against us."

She is quicky looking over Blu's shoulder to see what he found. She leaves her ever burning lantern in the center of the room to light it all up.

A man dressed in black toting a crossbow catches up with the others.

"I am Baris Shackleton, a Magus. I am glad to see friendly faces in this strange place."

Blu nods curtly at newcomers. Well met to ya den, he says in customarily gruff dwarven fashion. Bluadin Blonderbeard. Call meh Blu!

Eager Swish gazes about again one more time as she states, "It is time to get moving. Let's just start with that door." She motions to the door on the northeast side of the starting room.

She proceeds to it with a brisk stride and then forcibly opens it to view further and lets her magic lantern in the middle of the room light the way. Protectively she has drawn out one of her favored rapiers.

On the move Swish says to Baris after he casts some protective magics, "Best keep up Baris." and to Blu, "Let's do this."

"Someone pick up that lantern too. We might need some light further on."

Brother Lam bows to both Diesa and Baris. "Well met." Lam indicates with a sideward tilt of his head: "I almost forgot; this is my familiar, Diogenes." Anyone looking realises there’s a large rat peering over the monk’s shoulder.
Then, since Swish appears to have taken the lead, he proceeds to load his crossbow and allow the others to go ahead of him, cautiously moving after them.

Blu gears up, readies axe and shield, and waddles through the (top) Doorway.

"Do we want a light spell cast on something towards the front (or back) of the line?" Baris asks the others.

"Swish was kind enough to provide an ever burning lantern for us," explains Brother Lam, hefting the article which, as the last to leave the starting room, he brought in one hand, his crossbow in his other hand. "Save your magics, Master Magus."

From the doorway, "I wonder what is making that click noise." as she looks about the room. She has both her rapiers out now.

Swish has INIT of 23. She is rather fast.

Blu reacts with his trusty axe!

Upon seeing all the Kobolds and obviously they are aggressive. She moves forward to attack and has two points of Combat Expertise up for extra AC. She strikes hard for her opening volley. When she moves, she tries to come up on the side of her target rather than head on with the thoughts to set herself up for some backstabbing. Swish moves with incredible grace with almost steps of a dance as she attacks.

In common, "Die you worthless eggsucking wastes."

Brother Lam slips to one side of the doorway, setting down the lantern. He raises his crossbow and draws a bead on an unengaged foe…
