How much interest is there in this game style?

Would people play in a pathfinder 1 version of this campaigm style?

Or would more prefer a World of Darkness game in this style? Werewolf or Vampire?

Some other game system or setting?

Fate?

I love West Marches style!
Pf 1e would be perfect for me. :)

Some folks tried it out (West Marches) for 5e, but from what I understand it ended up with far more players than GMs and the head honcho ghosted. I think it fits some formats better than others. In GP, where you have to join a game, it's less functional than if you were to do so in a discord server.

It also gets weird when you have characters of different levels in PF 1 and 2 or in 5e.

Just some thoughts and observations to add to the conversation.

I'd be interested. The choice of system obviously is yours to make, but I think any of the Without Number systems would be cool. I like Fate, but I'm not sure if it's suited for a west marches campaign.

Yes- one solution to that is to go with 2nd edition dnd.

The other work around would be some sort of campaign credit experience system- "low" "mid" "high" tier games and a point system that takes more to advance as you level in a way that characters can catch up.

I think you're looking for. The Adventurer's League system. 😉

It's absolutely worth saying that using AD&D 2e as a solution is a very different pitch than a PF game.

Conditionally interested Depending on setting, rules. And others involved. Would prefer worlds without number to avoid the problems the last West Marches campaign presented.

Just curious, what were those problems?

And another bit of curiousness, are we talking -true- West Marches style play here, where the players organize the mission they are going to go on?

1. Unfortunately, I don't actually know World Without Numbers- never played or more than heard the name so I highly doubt I'd go that way.

2. There would be a central "theme" location- maybe the Amazon if I went with Werewolf, or a specific city in my campaign setting if I went with any fantasy campaign and I would make posts of some possible suggestions (a quest board, if you will), but absolutely either would have room for players going any direction they wanted-- you think there might be a dragon over that next rise? Sure, get a party and go look- I can cook up what you find.

Might as well do a poll. . .

Which game systems/settings would you be interested in... Multi Public

Pathfinder 1
5th Ed
Ad&D 2nd Edition
World of Darkness (Werewolf Amazon)
World of Darkness (Werewolf USA based)
Something else (suggest in the comments)

Bumping this-- think I need at least 7+ interested in one of the modes to move forward with it; if I don't get more votes/interest I'll go back to the drawing board for a game type to run.
