The feymark is a sign you carry on your skin, most often on your forehead. It's also the name of the realm where the fey dwell. Your mark gives you admittance to the mark, and draws you there. You've come to wander in search of treasure, lore, perhaps companionship. Your story begins around a smoky campfire in the Elm Wood, shared with a few rough folk who live on the borderline of brigand or peasant hero.

Places you've heard of include:
• Goatkin Village
• Elm Wood
• Porcelain Village
• the Traveling House
• Pale Heath
• Sentry Peak
• Deep Caves

Although I like the implied setting for Cairn 2e, I have my own long-ago-written setting that draws inspiration from (but does not copy) the antique Magic Realm published by Avalon Hill in my childhood.

Looking for 3-5 players who would like to engage with faery mysteries and monsters using simple rules.

I like Cairn but I haven't heard of the setting you mentioned. Can you explain a bit about it please?

It's a land of wonder replete with ancient treasures, lore, and weird foes. Ruled by whimsically cruel faeries, haunted by dragons and goblins and trolls. The peasants dwell cautiously in villages among the forests and heaths, typically dreading the potential appearance of a fey lord or lady or some other fearsome creature. Players characters are wanderers drawn into the feymark from elsewhere, perhaps pulled by avarice or lore-lust. But there's potential to be truly heroic.

I would be interested. I've not played Cairn but am down for a ruleslite adventure.

Thanks. I'm not available at the moment. Good luck with the recruitment and have fun playing. :)

Please download the rules and make a character! Do you know how to apply to the game from the game details button above?

We need 2-3 more players?

I'd like to toss my hat into the ring! Always interested in learning new systems, and it sounds like a promising setting.

The first scenario will be a McGuffin Hunt, driven by a capricious fey lord. We'll start in the Goatkin village, where all the PCs have been loitering together for a couple of days after separately wandering in at different times from the Elm Woods. In your few days at Goatkin Village, you've heard from the caprine folk of the various places mentioned above, but not really enough to have a defined idea of what each place is like.

You've also befriended at least one inhabitant of the Village, and as @thalanthalas is our first to join, I'll ask them to describe your new friend?

I'm interested. I will go over the rules and start work on a character. Game Details does not show the option to apply and instead indicates "Apply in Games Tavern"

Yeah okay. Here's just a real basic gist of an ally, let me know if this works.

We've met a hunter/trailsman, Aja, from Goatkin Village who has some experience navigating the local area. I've been trying to convince him to take us to the Deep Caves whenever he goes out that way again. To the best I can work out Aja is a middle-aged caprine and easy going, just taking each day one at a time as life goes on. I'm unsure if he has any family in the village as mostly, I'm just trying to get him to tell us about the local area and what dangers (creatures or areas to explore) we can hunt down for the thrill. His home has a lived-in feel to it and while comfortable, it's clearly his domain away from the world.

I see your character in progress, if you can just roll or choose answers to the two questions from your background and pick a name, I will approve (though actually, Psy Cairn is a fine name if you'd like to stick with that).

That seems quite good.

I'm interested though I have zero knowledge of the Cairn system.
I have downloaded the guide, will roll a random character and post it here if that's ok. Might take a day or two though.
