By the way, And I don't know if this would be a lot of work for our GM in this system, but I am totally OK with having our inititive rolled for us all at once, down the line if it speeds things up.

Actually, I'll roll it in the future, its not individual rolls. You will just choose each PC's starting location.

This time, the roll was part of the tutorial; for some, it's their first power roll.

By the way, if you hit the grey book by your character name in the list of your characters it makes it so the rest of us can see your character.

Yeah, this can be a little confusing at first.

"Free strikes" in Draw Steel are called that not because they don’t cost anything to use, but because they’re available to everyone by default. They aren’t one of your limited, special Class abilities that you usually pick during character creation — everyone gets access to them automatically.

We need to hightail it to Obsidian and Shrike before they get overwhelmed. Does anyone have any AoE abilities, or is it just one target per?

Also, am I missing something, is there a reason I would use ray of wrath (other than the cool name) over blessed light, when the latter does slightly more damage and has the additional benefit of giving surge?

Oops. My fault. Ray of Wrath is your (slightly better than usual) ranged free strike. Sometimes, you cannot use a regular main action, just a free strike.

I improved the description in your character sheet.

Marbin only have single targets. Preferably single targets not next to allies. Though he has a range of 10.

No... Jump alllows you to avoid pits, chasms, difficult terrain, obstacles... But don't change your damage.

Alright folks, that’s our first checkpoint. The skirmish outside the Delian Tomb has come to an end. This was a great chance to get a feel for the dice mechanics, combat, pacing, and a bit of my GMing style. We also got to learn some of Draw Steel in practice.

From here, we have a choice:

Leave - If you’d like to leave the game here, that’s absolutely fine — thank you so much for joining, and sorry if there were any rough edges along the way. This was my first time running Draw Steel, and I’m grateful for the chance to learn with you.

Onwards - If you’d like to continue, the adventure moves into the Delian Tomb, where we’ll face more goblins, traps, dangerous terrain, and opportunities for your characters to shine. From this point on, both PCs and enemies will begin to gain more abilities and tactical options, making the fights richer and more complex.

Take a moment to decide what’s best for you, individually. No pressure either way.

During combat it is a maneuver. Outside of combat you can use as many as you want, as long as you have Respites.

Just let us know and, please, keep track of your Stamina and Respites. =)

@htech I was looking through the rule book and found that I should have had primordial strength from the start which would have granted added might bonus dam to weapon strikes and also when pushing one into another. My might bonus is +2.

Primordial strength is gained at the forth encounter. Please remember that no one has a fully fleshed first level character in this tutorial game ;)

How does healing work outside of combat? In DnD lingo, can the cleric cast Cure X Wounds on his party members before the next big fight?

Everyone can use their Recovery to regain Stamina, provided they have any.

Shrike and Obsidian, however, have few Recoveries left. Depending on how the group plays, they could die in this final battle.

We need to plan and coordinate our next battle. It is hard to keep Obsidian from charging in but I will try. I have 2 recoveries and 1 healing potion.

@PhoenixScientist Like Furmyr said, you have to check the specific ability that allows you to teleport.

If you can target a creature, ally or willing creature, you can teleport Violet. Otherwise, if you target is only "Self", you leave her behind.
A hero who can reach Violet can free her as a maneuver. A hero carrying Violet who has a Might score of 1 or lower is Slowed while they carry her. Otherwise, you can move with her (but may receive a bane to fight)

Other option. I can stun the boss and someone can follow me in behind me and take her out of there. I assume only Obsidian wouldnt be slowed.

Well, I can get there this round as I said, but it will take me both maneuver and move, so would have to convert my Main action to a Maneuver to free her. I cannot carry her without being slowed however.

With a triggered action I can act immediately after Obsidian though, so by the time the enemy has time to react at least there will be two targets in the room.

I can't move far enough to get to her in one turn move and charge is only 12 squares and charge has to be in a straight line.
