Hi,
I’m unable to update my avatar. Here’s what happens:

- I uploaded a new avatar image (150px, jpg/png tested). It doesn’t replace the old one.

- Tried deleting the old avatar, but it does not delete.

- Logged out and back in. Still stuck.

- Tried a different browser. Same result.

- The system requirement says 150px min, and my files meet that. First avatar uploaded/displayed no prob.

So at this point I can neither change nor remove my avatar. It looks like the update/delete process isn’t working server-side.

Could you please check this? Thanks!

Have you cleared the cache on your browser? This is a common solution.

I know there is an issue with re-uploading an image (avatar or character avatar) where the new image has the same name as the original. Have you tried renaming your image?

can't clear cache on my main browser (too much valuable stuff there), but have same prob thru a different browser, so it's not a cache issue.
runekyndig - the new image has a different name than the old one. it updates inside the Profile | Settings screen, but doesn't update on the actual site display. So if I log out/back in, I see it fine in Settings, but no change on the main site displays (home page, profile, forums, etc)

No, that old remedy is not so doable anymore. :(

A forced hard reload, bypassing the cache for the one request, is often almost as good (maybe Ctrl-F5, maybe Shift and the reload button, varies by platform and browser).

Your profile picture has changed from the blue one to a brown one since you posted here. What do you expect it to look like?

Ah ha. Thanks for stating that clearly--it made me rethink. Ctrl-F5 did the trick!
I thought I had tried this earlier, but obviously I did not. :/
Problem solved.
