Heaven has fallen. The world is broken. The Throne is empty.
You are Godbound. You have inherited the holy fire. The world is slowly fading, and the beasts of its twilight hour are rising up from the dust. Your people cannot hope to stand against them.
Will you be their savior, or will you be their epitaph?
Hi again, I am following up my interest check here with a recruitment thread.
The system is Kevin Crawford's Godbound. The game is about playing as demigods trying to make their mark on a world decaying as a result of a cataclysmic war that shattered heaven. The state of the world itself is pretty bleak, that of one falling apart at the metaphysical seams. Despite that, there is a tremendous promise of hope in the form of the Godbound, who can work literal miracles and reshape the world in their own image.
For more information, you can check out the DriveThruRPG page for a free copy of the system here. I own the deluxe edition and can provide that for the additional play content.
The game will be run in a sandbox style. I would like to have four players, at a pace of nearly one post per day. I'd like for this to be an ongoing campaign, though I don't have an exact expectation as of yet as to how long it would last. I would like, at minimum, to run it for 3 months. I would like to get the game started on 11/08/2025, though I am open to playing out solo threads for each character that dig a little into how they came together prior to the official start date.
I am open to teaching new players the system.
To steal a snippet from the recruitment thread example, I'll say this: "This game is explicitly friendly to LGBT and any other minorities or marginalized groups." There are plenty of adult themes to be expressed in a game like this, but I have no interest in making anyone feel unsafe and am willing to nix any unwanted topics.
The game will be run for four players. To apply, I would ask that you look at the free edition linked above and share with me a general concept for a character you would like to play. The game will be set in the realm of Arcem provided in the system, so that can be provided as a point of reference.
