Nestled along a scalloped inlet at the edge of Fathom Bay, Saltmarrow is the kind of place locals claim is "favored by the breath of the sea."

Picture sandstone cottages with waveworn tiles, nets drying in the briny wind, gulls wheeling over coral-laced tidepools, and laughter echoing faintly from a low-beamed tavern.

VILLAGE OVERVIEW

Feature Description

Core Trades Fishing, coral diving, small-boat craftsmanship, sea-salt curing
Architecture Driftwood and limestone foundations; coralline motifs in carvings and paint
TonePeaceful, slightly whimsical, faintly sacred Mysticism

You've traveled from Port Cinder along the Sapphire Coast to a little fishing village called Saltmarrow.
OOC:
I will place rumors in your character threads.
Aug 19, 2025 12:53 am
The sun hangs low and soft, painting the waters in tones of brass and pearl. Behind you, the tide whispers against driftwood hulls. Ahead—Saltmarrow.

Cottages curl along a scalloped inlet, their coralline chimneys puffing trails of sea-laced smoke. Nets dry along posts etched with barnacle runes. The distant whistle of a manta ray bell floats through the breeze, calling the last divers home.

You hear singing—not loud, not haunting, but delicate, like wind brushing bone flutes. A cluster of villagers hums beside the dock as a blacksmith coils seaweed to mute the clang of hammer on hull. A young sea elf stands among them, her shimmering, gossamer gown and turquoise hair waving in the wind. Her voice rises above the hum. A dulcet accented soprano, she begins to sing.

"Before the bloom, there was coral.
Before the coral, there was breath.
Before the breath, there was a name—and now it is forgotten."

Saltmarrow has never known war. It knows tide and song, net and bone, wind and reef. It has existed quietly for generations—cradled by the Shimmering Coast, blessed with calm waters, and watched over by its coral rites.

But something ancient stirs beneath the bloom of seaweed and memory.

The water tastes different.
The dreams come heavier.
The reef begins to sing.

A village wakes beneath a sky of silence.
And deep below, something begins to remember...

You disembark, after lending a hand unloading a bit of Cargo. It feels good to have you feet on land again. The ocean breeze is balmy and gulls squawk in the distance. You have earned your keep of 250 silver pieces and you see ahead of you, the only Tavern in the village, The Pickled Ray...https://i.imgur.com/Tdxm1bG.jpeg
Aug 19, 2025 10:36 am
Biscuit: "Thank the gods for land under my feet. Time to spend some coin on drink and a warm body. (Looks sideways at Taniya): "It would be nice to be around a woman who bathes."
Aug 19, 2025 11:20 am
Mole start running toward the only Tavern in the village crying back Who is last at the tavern, buys drink to everyone!
Aug 19, 2025 2:14 pm
You find the Pickled Ray a warm and cozy place. There are two halfling maidens bustling about serving the patrons who consist of mostly farmers and fishermen, hard to tell which as they are sun tanned and wrinkled. A very provincial and placid place. Outside there is a terrace overlooking the bay where old men are having a pint...or tea and their pipes. You sit and wait to order...meanwhile you peruse the menu.
Aug 19, 2025 2:45 pm
The druid lingers on the ship, watching the gulls call and wheel overhead, before finally disembarking the ship.

Back on land, she shakes out her salt-crusted hair and takes in the picturesque village as she listens to the end of the sea elf's song.

"Yes, a room would be nice. Then we can explore the town more on the morrow," she says in a warm, full-bodied voice.
At the Salty Ray, she sits with the rest of the party, watching the bustle of the tavern. "Shall we sit out on the terrace?" she says after deciding to order a Viento Rojo and Kelp Crisps with Seafloor Greens.

Before she leaves Bloomspire Jetty, Nerys looks back for a moment. She notices an old woman on the pier who is looking directly at her, then as the men and women unloading are moving about, blocking her vision, she is gone...
Aug 19, 2025 4:33 pm
Taniya steps from the vessel and onto the dock, her eyes squinting into the evening sunlight. Biscuit steps off with her, making a comment about personal hygiene. She chuckles, replying, "What does it matter, Biscuit? Your own aroma would drown out the perfumed scent of even the sweetest smelling lass."

As they walk down the dock, Taniya discretely sniffs herself, wondering whether she is in fact pungent and has simply gone nose-blind. Satisfied that she is presentable enough, she looks around, taking in the scene. She stops to listen to the song for a moment, watching the water softly lap against the shore. She reflects, Lovely village... And that song... enchanting. Quite idyllic here..

Mole announces a race and Taniya shrugs, saying, "I can think of worse ways to spend this coin. Easy come, easy go, I say." She meanders toward the Pickled Ray, smiling as she does so up at the squawking gulls glowing in the light of the ruddy sunset. She enters the tavern and nods to one of the halfling servers, finds a seat with the others, and looks over the menu.

When Nerys enters, Taniya looks up and smiles. Taniya suspects that she and the druid share a love of and familiarity with the wilds, though they have not yet had much opportunity to speak. "Come, Nerys, join us!" Taniya listens to the druid order expertly, so Taniya shrugs and says to the server, "Sure I'll have the same."

Taniya has no idea what exactly she has just ordered.

Keldran leaves the ship and go with the others to the tavern and ponders.
Such a calm place, I wonder if I can listen to some song every other day
He enters the tavern, taking a look at the menu: "I'll have a Halfling Pie"
Next he goes to the terrace, wondering if he can take one look at the singing lady.

Biscuit looks at Keldran and says: "I ain’t eating no halfling." Laughing at his own wit, he orders the dark beer and sausages.

Keldran laughs with Biscuit: "The trip would be dull without your jokes"

Mole makes sour face looking through menu first item. Fish? ain't eating no fish no more! but start smiling as he get to extended menu. Oh yes, now we are talking. Echo of the Deep Earth, I came for you ! dwarf is finally happy about the drink offer.

While waiting for opportunity to order dwarf cleans his pipe and staffs with fresh tobacco.
Aug 20, 2025 4:28 pm
Nerys smiles and waves at Taniya when she hears her own name. As the druid walks over, her face darkens like a cloud passing over a plain as she recalls the woman on the pier. She glances around the tavern, looking to see if the same woman is amongst the patrons.

At the table with the others, she starts to relax again as food is ordered and Biscuit lightens the mood with his jokes and the smell of pipe tobacco wafts about.

"Have any of you noticed anything strange since we arrived? Perhaps it is just the sea elf's song, but I feel melancholy washing against me," she asks during a lull in conversation.

The piping hot food is brought to you by both the serving girls.
They are accompanied by a halfling with a pegleg made of turtle shell.
"G'day milords and ladies, welcome to Saltmarrow and of course to my wonderful establishment the Pickled Ray," she says as she holds in her hand a pint of seafoam mead. "As a welcome to your esteemed...(she looks at each of you) I raise a glass high. It is an honor to have you as guests here. As a token of my hospitality, the first one is on the house! Have a pleasant evening, CHEERS!" She clinks her mug with each of you and takes a healthy drink of her own. She smiles and is off again, "Pardon, I must see to my other guests."
Aug 21, 2025 1:51 am
You hear a few rumors as people talk over their food in casual but low conversations. There is a man at a table by himself in a corner of the dining area inside with a glass jar. A few fisherman are seated with him as he is obviously talking about what is inside...
Aug 21, 2025 2:56 am
https://i.imgur.com/2eb6SEw.jpegAs you finish your repast, a tall sea elf walks in and is greeted by the village folk. You overhear his name as Brother Rell. He is wearing a long tunic with his holy symbol, so you take him for a priest.

He makes his way to your table, followed by an older man and a girl of about 6 or 7 years old and greets you, "Hello travelers. I am Brother Rell, this is Erolth and his grand daughter Pallis," he says.
"You're the Drift Ones," she says and giggles, "and you're a Deep Dweller," she says to Mole.
Rell smiles at Pallis, "and I oversee the shrine of the Veiled Coral. I would like to invite you to Tidewelcoming tonight just after sunset. We would be honored to have you there."
Erolth looks at Pallis with a smile, "go on Pallis."
She is somewhat shy as she produces from a small pouch, 5 small, white, crystalline pieces of coral about the size of your thumb, on a silk thong and hands each of you one.
"Mother Hush protect you. These are tokens of our village for our economy depends on the sea, we provide coral and salted fish to those not as fortunate to live here in Satmarrow. I look forward to seeing you tonight."

He turns to leave, followed by the elder and his charge.
Aug 21, 2025 3:00 pm
Deep Dweller? I like that girl. Mole comment with a delay, trying to understand who is Erolth and what was his role in what just happen. He finally shrugs and note to himself I can't promise to behave in the shrine of mother silence by night. finishing his ale mug in one go.
OOC:
Mole certainly accept the invitation and don't plan any other business but relax until then.
Aug 21, 2025 9:12 pm
"He is an odd one, even for an elf. Tidewelcoming? I’d say this tavern is welcoming enough for my tastes."
Aug 22, 2025 5:23 am
Nerys takes the section of coral reverently, bowing her head at the young girl.

"We really should go to the greeting of the tide! The movement of the ocean sets the rhythm for villages such as this," she says as she finishes her meal.
Aug 22, 2025 1:52 pm
Good music and welcoming people, I could plan my retirement to be here
"I agree we should go"
OOC:
Keldran looks suspiciously to the coral stones

As the evenining turns to the edge of twilight, the villagers head out to Saltmarrow Hollow, a shallow shoal. You notice a Fish headed figure just off the shoreline, then another and another. As you see these fish folk surface one of the villagers looks at you and says, "Aye you see those fish folk yonder. They be Briners. They're nomads of the sea. They keep the lore and legends of Fathom Bay. They watch us every tidewelcome when they're in these parts." The villager, obviously a fisherman, continues on to catch up with his friends.

You also see Pallis, "look, the Drift Ones came," she says with a smile on her face.

The ceremony begins with a song. This time there is a chorus of sea elves:

"Salt binds the soul, foam hides the eye—
Drift into depth where memory dies.
Sing not for breath, but for shape unmade,
Coral remembers all tides obeyed."

After the chorus, the worshippers hand out white flowers. These grow on the hillsides a little further inland. As they cast their petals into the sea, they recite a memory of their past. Slowly they cycle through and now it comes to you. Which memory will you bless the tide with?

Don't worry there will be plenty of action soon...
Aug 24, 2025 11:47 am
Keldran gets closer to his mates and warns them, before attention falls upon all of them, in a whisper:
"Don't offer any of your memories. Stay alert. I feel there is some fishy business involded"
"Tell a memory that don't exist"
Aug 24, 2025 11:56 am
I certainly owe Buscuit some beers after this one
Aug 24, 2025 2:37 pm
After the Ceremony is over, the villagers head back to their homes. They rise early.

Suddenly a scream comes from the Jetty as you are nearing the Pickled Ray.

"Jetty Creeper!" shouts a young man who hurries three or four others on to the shore. Lamplight shows a strange creature on all fours coming up out of the water. A teenager is trapped at the other end, he'd have to go through the monster or jump into the water to try and escape. He pulls his knife and a look of determination crosses his face.
Aug 25, 2025 2:17 pm
What's going on? Have you met the creature before? Mole asks locals while moving toward the creature getting his crossbow off the back.
OOC:
I have a real problem imagining the scene: if monster is just coming out of the water how would a teenager be behind it. Was teenager swimming at the night or what?
Aug 25, 2025 2:23 pm
Biscuit draws his short bow and just waits to see what happens. He quips: "I wouldn’t worry too much, Mole. I was once married to uglier. And I won that fight, too."

I am reading what I wrote and it is not obvious. The village folk are running in fear. The teen was caught unaware at the end of the jetty. The creature cut off his opputunity to flee (you would not have seen this, but not too difficult to surmise.) Apologies.
The Jetty is a long track of rock and stone, though it gets narrower at the end. The Coral Divers use it as a base to swim out to the nearby reef. The far end of the Jetty overlooks a submerged 40 foot deep drop off into the channel. It is lit by a few lanterns set about for evening strollers.
Aug 26, 2025 1:14 pm
Nerys raises her shield and points her spear at the aquatic monster and yells "Hey creeper, over here!" trying to keep it from attacking the teen.

secret die rolls...lol

Rolls

Reaction - (2d6)

(24) = 6

Aug 26, 2025 11:04 pm
The creature turns to you shudders and hisses as it slaps one of the lanterns into the water to your right.
OOC:
We will be rolling for initiative. Here is the Combat sequence:
INITIATIVE AND ORDER OF BATTLE
When the party of adventurers comes into contact with enemies, the order of events is as follows:
1. Check for Surprise: The Referee determines if a surprise roll is required, and if so, both sides roll to see if they are surprised by the sudden encounter. See below for details of the surprise roll.
2. Declare Spells: This is not an option for a group that was surprised; they have to wait until the beginning of the next round.
3. Determine Initiative: Each side rolls a d6 and the side with the highest result is the winner. One roll is made for each side, not for each individual. If this is the first round and one group was surprised, the other side gets to go first automatically, without having to roll a die.
4. Movement and Missile Fire: Each combatant on the side that won initiative may move, or may fire any missile weapons. Then the losers of the initiative roll may move or fire missile weapons.
5. Melee Combat and Spells: Each combatant on the side that won initiative makes any melee attacks (if in melee range) or casts spells. Spells take effect immediately. Spells cannot be cast if the caster is in melee combat with enemies. Losers of the initiative then make their attacks and cast spells.
6. The round is complete. Go back to step 2 (Declare Spells) and repeat the process until the combat is finished.
OOC:
2. DECLARE SPELLS
Any player whose character is going to cast a spell must say so before the initiative roll. (The Referee makes a similar determination for the opponents.) The casting of any spell starts at the beginning of the combat round.
Thus, if the enemies win the initiative roll and damage the spellcaster, the spell’s casting may be disturbed and the spell lost. (This is the Swords & Wizardry interpretation of several places in the Original Rules where a spell must be "ready.")
3. ROLL INITIATIVE
At the beginning of a combat round, each side rolls a d6 for "initiative" — the opportunity to act first.
The side with the highest roll wins, and that group acts first. Initiative rolls may result in a tie. When this happens, the Referee may choose to resolve the actions as if they are simultaneous, or to have both sides re-roll.

The creature falls to the ground in a pool of it's own ichor. A stench emanites from it like something many days dead.

The thirteen year old runs to Keldran and embraces him. Keldran feels the lad trembling and sobbing quietly.
Aug 28, 2025 10:15 am
"You are safe now lad. Tell me, have you seen anything like that before? Any legends or rumors about these creatures?"
I have many questions now, first the evil symbol, now the creature
Keldran gets closer to his comrades
"Mole, Nerys, Biscuit, let's try talking to some of the sailors and fisherman about the creature"
And whispering
"If you could get some information about Mother Hush, that would be useful, but try not to draw much attention on that topic"
Aug 28, 2025 8:34 pm
Biscuit asks the locals what they know these creatures. Has this happened before?
Aug 29, 2025 1:48 am
Biscuit sees an old woman on the Bloomspire Jetty. She seems to be talking to the water. She has a shell adorned with coral in her hands.https://i.imgur.com/4acSCdS.jpeg
Aug 29, 2025 11:39 am
Keldran you must certainly do that and have a good luck with it. Mole ( who isn't the talking kind of dwarf) spits on the Jetty,
stuffs his nostrils with tobacco and is going to cut monster in half, figuring out what is is made of and what what it's last meal.
Aug 29, 2025 5:43 pm
Biscuit waits for the lady to finish and then asks her what she is doing.
Aug 30, 2025 1:16 am
She seems a littl absent minded, for only a moment as she seemed very focused.
"Why hello warrior. Who might you be? I know you came with the ship "El Canto del Cuervo" but I was not expecting you and your friends to stay," she pauses for a moment, then her eyes grow wide, briefly. "Oh, I apologize, my name is Sibba, pleased to meet you."
Aug 30, 2025 3:04 pm
"Sibba, my name is Keldran. Do you happen to know something about this incident? Did it happen before?"

Keldran noticed her talking to the water

"Did the water say something these days?"
Aug 30, 2025 5:51 pm
"Hello Keldren, I see you serve the shard. The reef dreams deeper than we do. He's dreaming again," she says lost again. She points to the water. For a brief moment, you see something in the crystal clear water.
In the depths, a shadow lingers—too still, too large, too aware. It's gone before you can identify it.
Aug 30, 2025 5:53 pm
Mole begins to examine the creature. It reminds him a lot of a squid. However, there is a yellow slime oozing from its mouth and small yellow blister appear in various "patches" on its skin. Reminds him of puss.
Aug 30, 2025 8:37 pm
"My name is Biscuit, madame. Is there anything I can do for you?"
Aug 30, 2025 10:09 pm
"Yes,'" she says. "Biscuits would be nice. With some tea. Excuse me young warrior, I didn't get your name," she says expectantly with a gracious smile.
Sep 1, 2025 10:10 am
She wasn't afraid of the monster. And she says she hoped we wouldn't be here to save the boy. That witch summoned the monster, I tell you! Mole jump to conclusions way too soon

One of the fishermen comes out and calls to Sibba, "Sibba, why aren't you in your hut? What are you doing out here?"
"There was a celebration, wasn't there? Where's the biscuits and tea?" she says.
"In your hut Sibba, come on, let's get you back there and warmed up, your hands are cold," says the fisherman. He doesn't make eye contact with any of the PCs.
Sep 1, 2025 7:58 pm
A young man approaches you.
"Heard your names were Keldran, Biscuit and Mole. I'm Henric. Pay no attention to Sibba, she's...well a bit eccentric, and absent minded...and well, she is losing her wits I say, but don't tell anyone I said that. Me dah is the boatwright and I'm his apprentice. You said you saw something in the water? A shark, a jellyfish?"
Sep 2, 2025 3:43 pm
That name rang a bell in Keldran's mind. He decides to play it safely.
"Keldran, you're right"
"Maybe a shark, I think. Are they common near the shore?"
OOC:
Keldran is looking for symbols in Hendric's

Sep 3, 2025 4:08 am
Henric looks about and lowers his voice and faces seaward as he speaks.

"Strange happenings...that Jetty Creeper for one. They normally don't make it this far. They like Driftwood Isle a bit farther east. Only they don't usually have that yellow...jelly on them. I've also noticed a shift in the smaller currents, and some that were not there before. Nael has a jar of a strange jelly, like that stuff on the Creeper. I have to leave. People will think I'm mad for telling you all this."

He turns landward, "yep, that's a Jetty Creeper alright. I'd better be getting on. Good luck lads."
He leaves you on the Jetty alone with the dead monster.
Sep 4, 2025 5:02 pm
Were were we? Let's go back to the tavern. If no local is ready to express their gratitude for killing jelly creeper we could celebrate ourselves.
Mole isn't much into investigation. He is going to have some ale and have a good night sleep.
Sep 4, 2025 5:10 pm
Keldran goes to the tavern with Mole. And will try to get information on Nael
"Let's get some drinks"
Sep 4, 2025 9:29 pm
Biscuit says, "Okay, but you are paying."
Sep 6, 2025 12:01 am
The evening turns to night and a drunken revelry is all that you remember as the locals buy your drinks for your heroics at the jetty.
Breakfast is on the house.

Suddenly you feel the ground beneath you shift and move for a brief moment. It loosens dust motes from the rafters and alarms many of the fisherman who've come back from an early catch. The coral divers are still out on the reef.

One of the coral divers, still in swim gear enters the tavern.
"Come quick, someone. Sahuagin! Sahuagin on the jetty!"
The fishermen look at each other and head outside, knives in their hands.
Sep 6, 2025 12:32 am
Biscuit runs outside, bow at the ready.
Sep 6, 2025 2:06 am
Keldran runs outside too, shield and hammer ready
"these waters won't let me pray first?"

Outside is chaos, the sun is creeping an edge over the horizon, dark clouds gather overhead, people are running for safety as several sharkmen emerge from the waters onto the Jetty carrying fierce looking Tridents, their gills expanding and flattening against the sides of their throats.

A group of four head in your direction, trotting along at pace, closing the distance.

Thanks, that's very efficient DirtyDwarf77. The Sahuagin go first in the round, so they move 120' and end their movement 30' away. Outdoors, the range increments are tripled, so a short bow range is 150'. No penalties for range. I don't mind giving you the ACs of your opponents as this will speed up things. Sahuagin are AC 5 [14]. Biscuit hits his target twice! Their relative sizes are indicative of how many hit points they have. There is one large one, two medium ones and one small one. Biscuit takes out one medium sized Sahuagin!
The sharkmen close in for melee, but Biscuit, seeing his window of opportunity is quite minimal, fires off two shafts. The bow thwangs so quickly they sound as one. Two streaks, one following the other find their mark! One of the Sahuagin warriors is struck squarely and falls to the ground, lifeless, the shafts extending from it's chest! Meanwhile, some of the fishermen have found their harpoons and have concentrated their efforts on one of the Sahuagin, piercing it several times, taking it down in a bloody mess.

Keldran helps making bandages and ask some of the people if thess attacks are frequent
"When did they happen last?"

Keldran also asks where he can find Nael
Sep 13, 2025 5:43 pm
One of the Fishermen responds, "They been comin' a few times for the last month. Briner's were here for a festival as well as some Sea Elves. These Sahuagin got this yellow pus coming out their eyes and such. These Sahuagin are crazed I tell ya with some kind of sickness."
Sep 13, 2025 6:08 pm
Biscuit goes to the fishermen and offers assistance where needed.
Sep 14, 2025 1:32 am
The village folk are surprised that you would help them. They begin to thank you when a young man walks in out of breath.
"The Priest is missing! I went to the Shrine to get him, but he cannot be found. The acolytes are searching for him now!"
Sep 14, 2025 1:50 pm
Biscuit says: "Calm down, son. We will find him." Biscuit goes to assist with the search.
Sep 14, 2025 3:22 pm
OOC:
did my chasing Sahuagins end with no results and i can assume mole is back with everyone? And hear the conversation? Or he is maybe rather busy at the moment and I should wait before allowed to post anything?
Sep 14, 2025 6:45 pm
Outside Mole chases down a few of the Sahuagin who jump into the water as bolts fly after them. One of them stops and turns around, facing Mole.
"The Unmaking doesss not drownnnneh. It forgetsss," it hisses as it points at Mole before jumping into the ocean.
Sep 15, 2025 10:08 am
Keldran goes with biscuits to find find clues about the priest.
"We should see the temple"
Sep 15, 2025 3:23 pm
Biscuit: "I have no use for clerics and temples, but you are right. Let’s go."
Sep 15, 2025 5:03 pm
Keldran will be paying attention to anything unusual about temples and will ask about that orange ooze. He would like directions to where find nael too
Sep 16, 2025 9:11 am
Mole slime to Biscuit who is on the same page: clerics and temples aren't to his liking either.
You go, I'll dig up some defensive position here. Two attacks in less than a day and villages don't care for their security. Will have to fix that.

Mole takes hist shovel and start digging elongated pit hole and a dirt wall to use as trap first and as a cover second.
Sep 17, 2025 10:28 pm
Keldran and Biscuit head towards the temple as people are gathering at the Tavern to see to the injured and find their loved ones.
Meanwhile, Mole is digging in a trench and some of the folk are watching.
As he is digging he notices something in the water he hasn't seen before. A pod of pilot whales makes its way near the Jetty. Sea Elves mounted on their backs swim the rest of the way and come ashore. There are at least twenty of them.
Sep 18, 2025 10:23 am
Keldran asks the folks nearby
"Should we be worried? Is this another attack?"
OOC:
If not, keldran continues his investigations
Sep 18, 2025 1:38 pm
Biscuit says to Keldran: "Relax, buddy." And then hands him a flask of fine halfling whiskey.
Sep 18, 2025 2:10 pm
Are these friends, foes or in between? Mole ask to people around. He stops digging and waits for fisherman anawer.
Sep 19, 2025 3:12 am
One of the acolytes, Aletha, who is also a sea elf, says, "These are clan Eldra. Coraum is their leader. Perhaps he is here in response to the attack..."

Coraum walks over to Aletha. They speak in the elven tounge.

"Thar Thil. Sar e Alet lor nae var. Sharti nha viaren lian?" says the one she called Coraum.
Sep 19, 2025 5:24 am
OOC:
Mole obviously does nothing, just watch
Sep 19, 2025 10:02 pm
Aletha sees Mole nearby and says, "He says he came as fast as he could. He heard from the Briners that there was trouble."

The Elf steps forward and addresses Mole, "Greetings. I am Coreum, I come recently from Driftwood Isle. We saw the Lighthouse Beacon at midday as we eradicated a nest of Jetty Creepers. Odd that they were in such numbers and now this. The Sahuagin are bold at night, but at midday? Tis odd indeed."
Sep 21, 2025 7:54 am
Mole answer, putting his shovel away "Greetings, I'm Bromrig Brengureck, but everyone just call me Mole.
Eradicated a nest of Jetty Creepers you say? When? We had a fight with one last night."
He then turns to fisherman asking "Lighthouse Beacon? Did you guys do that to summon reinforcements? " he further explain to everybody that
"I've just arrived yesterday and have no idea how things are going on here and what id odd what is not. I can only provide my expertise in combat and preparation work" he demonstrates the trench.

There are a few more adventurers in the town who may be willing to launch a counter attack, but more importantly - a scouting operation to figure out the root cause. But we will need all the information you can give us
Sep 21, 2025 5:41 pm
"Bromrig...eh, Mole. We have increasingly seen something peculiar about these Jetty Creepers and Sahuagin. Something has incited them. They are normally found beneath the waves. The Creepers tend to form about the deepest parts of outcroppings, never coming ashore. They are often frightened when confronted in number."

"Also, there is one other thing...the ichor. A yellowish puss like substance. This ichor is more than just a blight, we have never seen its like before and we fear it is driving these creatures mad," says Coreum.
Sep 22, 2025 12:30 pm
OOC:
Keldrans understands elvish. What did they say?
Keldrans is willing to help the elves and asks if they know something about the missing priest and the temple.
Sep 22, 2025 6:32 pm
Biscuit: "Is there anything that isn’t going to come out of the water?" He follows Keldran.
Sep 22, 2025 8:27 pm
Mole takes a pause and stuffs his pipe before asking sea elf: Ichor you say... The shoal south of here - is it true it once belonged to a coral queen? Could you guide me and few of my partners us there? I hear some rumors, would like to check them
Sep 24, 2025 10:35 pm
All three adventurers watch with interest as Coreum reaches into a pouch and pulls out three white coral necklaces.

"You will need to find Mother Hush. These will aid you in your search. We are grateful you fended off the Sahuagin. I'm afraid our work is not done on Driftwood Isle, we must return and find the nest of Jetty Creepers to keep them from heading over here," he says and hands you the coral necklaces.

"Find the Path Unseen and you will find Mother Hush," with that he calls his men to the Bloomspire Jetty and they move with a sudden quickness. They are soon out of sight.
Sep 25, 2025 10:22 am
Wait, what? Why do we need to find Mother Hush? How will necklaces aid? And you didn't answer my question about coral queen
dwarf cries to leaving elves.

Are they arrogant, presumptions or just rude? Mole asks the Aletha.
He the realize Biscuit and Keldrans are around: Back already? Found the Priest already? Was he hiding ?
Sep 25, 2025 4:36 pm
Biscuit: "We never got a chance to look. The sea elves caught my attention."
Sep 27, 2025 2:33 am
Aletha looks at Mole, Biscuit and Keldran.
"Let me explain...the Whale Riders are as you might say...xenophobic. They keep to themselves, but they patrol the waters here and Fathom Bay in general. They fought a Kraken once...or so the story goes."

"The Coral Queen, is an ancient legend. There are ruins south of here that are said to have belonged to the Coral Queen who waited for her King to return from a famous battle with the Sahuagin King Sharma. He never returned and though she waited till her last breath, she died alone and broken hearted. Such are the lengends of the sea folk."

"The Path Unseen may be found at the bottom of the drop off into open ocean. Our human divers have never been that deep. And lately, the deeper they swim, the more likely it is they will lose a sense of who they are as their memories become lost. Sibba is one such, though she is kind hearted. The Whale Rider gave you a precious gift. These coral necklaces will allow you to swim as deep as any sea elf. You will not need to surface for air. These are rare and well guarded. They seem to know who to trust and who not to. It is something we have yet to uderstand about their kin."

"We did not find Brother Rell, but one of the children said she saw him walking into the waves. She said he looked as if he were praying. I have no idea where he could have gone. Perhaps he has gone to seek Mother Hush. Will you help us find him? As the only two priests of the shrine, we are needed here as you can see. The people need hope."

Aletha looks at you with a hint of desperation in her eye. Dark clouds gather on the Bayward horizon and the wind picks up causing leaves to flutter in the air around you. The smell of sea and sand fill your nostrils.
Sep 28, 2025 1:15 am
Biscuit: "I offer my services."
Sep 28, 2025 1:24 am
"I can surely retire after that. I'm on"
Sep 28, 2025 9:03 am
OOC:
Going underwater sound exciting for me as a player and my PC will eventually agree to do that, but I hope you don't mind I would add some flavor here and take some spotlight for my PC as I don't think he would happily jump right into the deep sea just because soem sea elves gave an order to do so.
Keldran, Biscuit. You hear "the deeper they swim, the more likely it is they will lose a sense of who they are as their memories become lost." I guess you have some bad memories to loose don't you?!
Mole laughs, but you could feel his he don't think it is funny in no way. Shifting from foot to foot dwarf look at coral necklaces and the sea he shakes his head slowly and adds retire after you say? They don't pay us for doing this, do they? Even of there would be the after

Mole finally turns back to Aletha to double check the situation:
So. Priest walking into the waves and praying. Not seems lost his mind. Not fighting against someone dragging him into the water. And you want us to go drag him back against his will, correct?!
Sep 30, 2025 2:27 am
"Mole...I don't believe he is in his right mind. He may have heeded the call of something...sinister. If you can help, I have only gratitude for you, but with that comes respect and honor. That may not mean much to a stout Dwarf such as you, but it is all I can offer. Do as you will Mole. You are already a hero in my mind," says Aletha.
Sep 30, 2025 5:54 am
People need hope, you say? Let's hope we find either the deity or your priest before I realize it is not worth trying Mole presents his showel to Aletha and gives also his crossbow and bolts saying Hope alone will not win fight. Build some defenses, set up watces and use tactical advantage.

Dwarf steps toward the sea, noting to others Keldran, Biscuit, I'm not the hero. Be ready for me to retreat if my life or sapience is at the stake. with that Mole is ready to follow his bold companions.
Sep 30, 2025 7:16 pm
Biscuit: "I know you have it in you, Mole. These people need help, so help them we must."
Oct 1, 2025 1:48 am
OOC:
Wow, you guys are really good with the RP. I am going to post a new thread to continue a new chapter. You may continue to post here as long as you feel is necessary. I am going to check the loot and xp to make sure it's right and then tomorrow, I will begin the new Thread.
Oct 1, 2025 11:20 am
No you don't Mole notes dispassionately in return. You do what you must, I will do what I could

Drwaf then turns to Aletha and gives him the pipe he have been smoking this whole time. I guess no smoking underwater, that' s a bummer. Would you keep it dry for me adding tobacco pouch.

You do not have permission to post in this thread.
