Heaven has fallen. The world is broken. The Throne is empty.

You are Godbound. You have inherited the holy fire. The world is slowly fading, and the beasts of its twilight hour are rising up from the dust. Your people cannot hope to stand against them.

Will you be their savior, or will you be their epitaph?

Hi everybody, I'd like to see if their is interest in a campaign run in Kevin Crawford's Godbound system. The system is themed around mythic, demigod-and-higher-level play on the scale of nations in a world shattered by a literal war in Heaven.

Here's a link to the DriveThruRPG page, which pitches the game better than I ever could.

The game will be run in an OSR sandbox style. I would like to have four players, at a pace of nearly one post a day. I'd like for this to be an ongoing campaign, though I don't have an exact expectation as of yet as to how long it would last.

I am open to teaching new players the system and I can provide a PDF copy of the system through Google Drive.

To steal a snippet from the recruitment thread example, I'll say this: "This game is explicitly friendly to LGBT and any other minorities or marginalized groups." There are plenty of adult themes to be expressed in a game like this, but I have no interest in making anyone feel unsafe and am willing to nix any unwanted topics.

Interest can be expressed in this thread, if there is enough I will put up application criteria on a recruitment thread.

Thank you for reading!

"I've always had a knack for everything natural, but with puberty that has become even more intense. At that time, I was not aware of the consequences; well, frankly, if they were sometimes aware, I ignored them.
My parents helped me a lot back then, even though they sometimes had to be overstrained. I learned to hold back with my powers and ideas, but it helped me to control them, too.
Now I'm kind of a respected citizen; funny, how things develop. I'm the spokesperson for everyone. Everyone who's natural. And I help them to become as they wish to be, besides other abilities."

In other words - interested. ;-)

I might be interested, although I am not 100% sure i have the bandwidth for another game right now. So you can count me as a maybe.

I was actually thinking yesterday that I want to play a hero-driven strategy. I've never heard of this system before, but the description makes me think of Dark Souls and Elden RIng. If so, I'll be interested in learning it.

I've played a couple of Crawford's systems, and they've been good experiences. I'm definitely interested in getting into a game of Godbound.

To be clear, you'll be using Arcem as it's laid out in the book,as opposed to an original setting?

I will likely take the setting and tweak it or build upon it. I am not opposed to an original setting, but I think Arcem is cool and I don't yet have enough reason to invest in building something from scratch.

Generally speaking: Every group makes the setting their own automatically. ;-)

A very good point!

I like the book setting too (surprisingly, because I usually demand a lot from official settings), but there's a lot to learn there regardless. I can evade the need to read about the world using my character's backstory, but our own setting obviously would put everyone, including the new players on a more equal footing. Then, of course, the question will be if whatever we create will be anywhere close in quality to what is already created for us.

Is there a sheet for Godbound, by the way?

Yes, here you go.

I meant the custom GP charsheet with code and everything.

Perhaps we could use a d&d 3e sheet and tweak it a little?

Ah, duh! I think that Dominic's suggestion is good. Given the decent amount of interest in the game, I am going to look into putting a sheet together.
