Prowlers & Paragons: Ultimate Edition
Prowlers & Paragons (P&P) is a cinematic superhero tabletop RPG designed to bring comic book action to life. Whether you're a gritty street-level vigilante or a reality-warping powerhouse, P&P delivers fast, flexible gameplay that emphasizes narrative and flair.
Link to P&P Handbook: P&P PDF

Core Mechanics
P&P uses a dice pool system with six-sided dice (d6). When taking action, a character rolls a number of dice equal to their Attribute + Skill + Power Level. Successes are calculated as follows:

2s and 4s = 1 success
6s = 2 successes

Most actions involve opposed rolls—for example, when an attacker uses a power against a defender.

If the attacker's total successes exceed the defender’s, the difference becomes the damage dealt.

[ +- ] Example 2: Defender Wins
Character Creation
Creating a hero in P&P involves a mix of narrative flavor and mechanical choices:

Hero Concept – Define who your character is and what makes them unique.

Attributes – Distribute points among six core traits:
Agility, Intellect, Might, Perception, Toughness, & Willpower

Skills – Allocate skill points in areas like Athletics, Stealth, Persuasion, Technology, and more.

Powers – Choose and customize superpowers with Enhancements and Limits to fit your concept.

Perks & Flaws – Select advantages and disadvantages to round out your hero's personality and mechanics.

Motivation & Background – Flesh out the character’s story, drive, and origin.

Example of a Character Sheet:

Prowlers & Paragons thrives on action, story, and cinematic gameplay, making it ideal for players who love heroic exploits and fast, flexible rules that support imagination over complexity

One problem we(I) currently have is the dice function doesn't automatically count the score for the points.
I am not a master coder and can't figure it out the Json for it...

I think this is a custom dice tool, I am testing it in a private thread and it does show the result

When I made the macro for Roll20, I changed it up slightly to make it easier to code. Instead of 2 and 4 being a success and 6 being two successes, I had 4 and 5 be one and 6's remained 2. This allowed me to say anything below half was zero and anything above was one, then add one for a max roll.

EDIT: End result had the same probabilities, but was MUCH easier to code. :)

That is actually smart
Jul 11, 2025 9:11 pm
Although I don't mind manual counting
Jul 11, 2025 10:21 pm
I fixed it a little. It doesn't count still, but it highlights 2 & 4 and makes 6 green. Hopefully that makes it easier.

We might need to start a standard of Putting the Points Total in OoC like I just did.
OOC:
Roll for Attacking 12d6 = 5 Points
This is the current code if you can figure out how to make it count that would be great! I have no idea.

Could try adding a "Modified" result in each die. 1, 3 and 5 would be 0 while 2 and 4 would be 1 and 6 would be 2. Then see if the Result adds the Modified instead of Natural. But, that's totally guessing. I don't know what the code is looking for.

Still not working. We will just have to manually count until I get the code.

Good Morning.

How are the 2 of you doing?
As of right now you are the only players.
I have tried getting others to no success.
Jul 14, 2025 4:27 pm
What happened with Regicidal?
Jul 14, 2025 4:28 pm
They were not a fan of the functionality of the site.
Thought it was too complicated.
Same with aqua
Jul 14, 2025 4:34 pm
Huh. Well, that sucks. Well, I'm willing to go with 2 for now. If we can find someone to add later, great. In the meantime, we can either scale encounters to the small group or add a couple NPC crew members.
Jul 14, 2025 5:36 pm
Just exited to learn the game and this campaign seems like something interesting I have never played before
Jul 14, 2025 11:28 pm
I might start the 1st campaign post tomorrow.
You can still work on sheets and finalize things while we roleplay.
Jul 15, 2025 4:20 am
Sounds good. Question first - how do we end up on the ship yet to be named? :)
Jul 15, 2025 2:39 pm
That is sort of up to you guys.
This ship could be one you stole a few months/weeks back.
You could have won it in a game of cards or what ever you want.

It is up to you guys.
Jul 15, 2025 4:10 pm
Maybe call the ship lucky and say we won a bet

Lady Luck? I like the idea of having won it in a bet.

How would I have met Berk?

Idk, I was thinking the same, we both were in the same slave settlement and we both escaped, makes it easier
Jul 15, 2025 8:36 pm
Although if you want slightly different backstories that works too

I don't think Berk would have survived where Agneya came from. How about we met after her trial...oh, so we were both in the game when we won the ship and had to "split the pot." That makes us co-owners of the ship. I'm the pilot, you're the tech and we share responsibilities in everything else?
Jul 18, 2025 2:28 am
Not ignoring you guys.
Had a busy day and now I got a migraine
Will move us forward tomorrow.

You looking around for anything specific?

She'll be looking to see if there's anyone going to cause them trouble.
Jul 23, 2025 11:59 pm
Would you rather I *Force* 1 job on you guys from Regex or give you a few options to choose from.

In game it would make more sense for him to give you 1. OoC I can give you options, and we can say he gave you the one you pick.

These do not include the Bounty board quest.
Jul 24, 2025 1:38 am
OOC:
I'm good with anything. I mainly had Regex show up to have a semi friendly face to interact with.
Jul 24, 2025 1:51 pm
I'm fine with anything, I do like the feeling of being able to choose the mission but at the end a single choice can speed up play
Jul 25, 2025 3:23 pm
I am leaving on a weekend family vacation.
Posting might be very sporadic for the next 3 days.
Jul 26, 2025 6:39 pm
Sorry, same for me, I had a busy week so it took long to post
Aug 1, 2025 9:40 pm
Do you guys want/need to do anything in the few hours before the mission starts?
Aug 1, 2025 9:52 pm
Need to figure out what Xgamersma wants to do and come to an agreement. I feel like we're both kind of putting off making a decision because we don't want to step on the other persons toes.
Aug 3, 2025 11:39 am
I'm fine with anything, Berk would probably prepare for the mission, maybe go searching for supplies to build stuff
Aug 3, 2025 1:10 pm
I will say for this you have ~1hr before the trade-off happens. You could make up to a 6 Complexity Gadget.
So pick a Complexity from 3-6. Explain what you want to build. Then roll Technology roll vs your Complexity.

Gadgets!

Step 1: Assign Complexity. Assign the Gadget a Complexity of anywhere from 3 to your Technology rank. A gadget’s Complexity determines how powerful it will be and how hard it will be to create.

Step 2:
The Challenge Roll. Make a Technology roll using the gadget’s Complexity as the threshold. If successful, you build the Gadget. See step 3. If you succeed by only 1 or 2 points, the gadget will have some unique flaw, quirk, or side-effect, the nature of which is entirely up to the GM.

Step 3: Build the Gadget. If you make the roll, you gain a number of Hero Points equal to double the item’s Complexity to buy Abilities, Talents, and Powers that represent your new Gadget. By default, all Gadgets have the Item Con. You get no extra points for that. However, you can give your Gadget any other Pros and Cons you wish. Optionally, you can also use these Hero Points to modify mundane gear as discussed above —
in effect, the Gadget represents your special modifications. Whether or not you succeed, creating a Gadget takes one scene that lasts about 10 minutes times the item’s Complexity. Gadgets are inherently unstable and often temperamental. Roll one die each time you use one. When you roll less than the number of times you’ve used it, the Gadget stops working. The maximum number of Gadgets you can create per issue equals
half your Intellect.

You guys want me to move it forward to chat/plan some more.

This is the warehouse the trade is going down in. You saw it in the holidisc info.
You won't know where people will be or where they will go until it happens.

Can you mark on the map where Regex indicated a good set up point would be? I see what look like a couple Loaders on the map. Would those be something Berk could use Machine Control on? Agneya's a swashbuckler...planning isn't really her strong suit. She'd probably just go in Blasters ablaze.
Aug 7, 2025 12:43 am
Dagger & Bag is where the trade might take place.
Gear and Swirl is Birk and Agneya. Suggested area to hide out.
The Green circled area is upstairs.
Under that is just more storage and boxes.

There is a single gated fence to get into the warehouse, but it is only ~10ft tall.

Yes, sorry, I was a little tired yesterday but ready to move on
Aug 8, 2025 6:08 pm
Can we pick up a drone or set of small cameras we can use to watch the approach to the building to see where they're coming from? That'll allow us to adjust our plan to predict their movements.
Aug 8, 2025 7:40 pm
Yeah, for sure a basic surveillance drone is not hard to get, I like that idea
Aug 8, 2025 7:56 pm
All right. Consider that done, then. Let's go ahead and move to the site and wait for the meet.
Aug 9, 2025 6:07 pm
How are you Getting this drone?
What power do you want it to have?

(Sorry I am new to DMing P&P want to make sure I ha e ducks in a roll.

Assuming there's any sort of sporting goods store, I'd head there. Or maybe do a 'net search on "Drones" and see what turns up. As for stats, something like this is probably close (Sensors is probably overkill and small isn't really small enough but /shrug):

Body 2, Speed 4 (Flight), Control +3, Remote Control, Sensors, Small
Aug 10, 2025 11:45 am
Could be treated as a plot device too with the sole purpose of showing us what it sees
Aug 14, 2025 10:03 pm
Really quick just to make sure we are on the same page.

Current steps.
Set up to watch/wait for Vask Talro to show up. See how he arrived?
Wait for the exchange; make sure nothing bad happens.

Follow Vask and grab him inconspicuously.

Where/how do you plan on setting up the trap?
Aug 15, 2025 12:53 am
That's a good question. Can we find out where he is coming from/likely to go after the meet? Data search, maybe?
Aug 15, 2025 6:08 pm
Yeah, but as an alternative we would probably cover all the entrances and important points, so search for a place where we have the most access in general can work too
Aug 16, 2025 12:56 am
Sounds good. You're probably better equipped to run such a search (I'm not sure what skill it would be, Technology? Investigation?) so go ahead and take point on that.
Aug 19, 2025 2:09 am
Sorry guys
Life has been stressful and chaotic.

I have a plan to make your guys life a little easier.

The drone will be a permanent feature for you guys.
Simple in nature only for scanning/watching an area
BUT you can use it to do simple task like open doors ans such.
So you could use it to watch where to place the trap and use than place the trap.
Aug 25, 2025 7:47 pm

Sorry about the pause. Life has been stressful due to school starting.
I plan on posting today/tomorrow.

Just to double-check, if you are both still interested in this.
