How do I put in a background image

I've been trying to include a background image into my game, but it doesn't seem to be working. In the Game Details page, I paste the image URL into the input box that says "Background Image", but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Have you tried with a different image, just to see if there is a problem with the one you are using?

What URL are you pasting into the box? If you send me the game id (or a link to the Game Details page) I could take a look.

I've had trouble uploading a background image, too. Tried jpg, gif, different sizes.

I upload my pics to Imgur, then use the direct link code, which is a PNG file, and paste that into the box.

So it looks like something like this:

Yep, that's what I do too, but no joy. It's worked before, but not recently.
edit: And now all of a sudden it works again. Bizarre, but welcome!

It doesn't work for me. I don't use imgur anymore because it's region locked seemingly everywhere at this point… So I use postimg instead. Does GP only accept imgur images?

GP will take most online images but historically used imager and has some functionality to use it built in. Image had been becoming less open and easy to use, specifically it is not usable in the otfbm, another service that is built into some GP functionality, like it used to be.

I use a tunnel to another region when I need to upload an image. After that apparently it displays just fine even without a tunnel.

Okay. So I've found a country where Imgur actually works from and uploaded the image. But GP still doesn't put it on the game's background. The URL is in the "https://i.imgur.com/imagecode.jpeg" format, of course.

Ok, that didn't work at all, the first one is an upload to imgur

but the "URL" function did not even look like it was a function.

Okay, so I read this guide and edited the JSON manually. Then it added the image. The built-in tool simply doesn't change the JSON for me as it, apparently, should, because the text always remained "null".
