Seeing as we are in the far north I was thinking a white drgonborn would be fun to play with and be a rogue(scout) and might take a level in sorcerer(shadow or dragon)

does the Winterlight Lantern required its light to carry the thermal effect or does that persist even when covered?

You can place it down with the hood off and it will act as a small camp fire, it does not need to be carried. However, it is only warm to be touch and cannot light anything on fire.

The magic fades to a very soft warmth when hooded.

How are we handling diagonal distances? 7.5' or 5/10/5 ?

In 5th edition they're all 5', even moving diagonally. This is known to cause math nerds to lose their collective shit. 🤣

Do ya'll like it when I use copious amounts of notes so that you get to decide, as the player, how to present the information found? Or would you rather I use fewer notes and post it up for everyone to see?

If I could get everyone to give me a list of three or four magic items that are appropriate for this campaign (levels 1 to 5ish), please post up here and I'll see what I can do about sprinkling some of them throughout the game. I'll add them to The Party so we can keep track and not have it all buried here in the OOG stuff.

@Sardis can you use a different color please? I have horrible eyes and cyan on white makes it harder to read. The same is true in dark mode

@Psybermagi let me know if that is better. Aqua was the original color, I've switched to olive.

Hey guys, apologies for the lack of a post today. This morning my wife was rear ended in our brand new car so I've spent the day dealing with that while she slept (she works nights).

I tried to talk her into going to the doctor since we have PIP and other coverage, but she declined. She's a strong willed woman so until she hurts, I don't see her mind changing. Unfortunately.

Hopefully she is fine then...as my experience has been that if you wait until it presents, it's usually too late...as the 'at fault'party can say, "look, X amount of time has passed since the accident...whose to say it wasn't the result of something that happened after the fact."

Going to a doctor isn't so much about confirming you are alright or not (if nothing outwardly pesents at the time), but also as a paper trail to show an insurance company (or a court if it comes to that) that a doctor was consulted as a result of the accident.

Insurance companies tend to love the 'strong willed' for that very reason...

Everything is fine, the holiday weekend just wiped me out and I came back to work with a real CF on my hands, so I'm focusing on that.

@Raddue Can you add descriptors to the combat tracker spoilers (Map / Turn Order / Stats) and a Round # with these?

There are titles for the spoilers, but they're embedded in the spoiler. Did you want these above the spoilers in the main post?

I had planned on a turn tracker, so that's easy peasy.

If you put the tile in the spoiler="xxx" instead of inside it then it's is much easier to identify the shoulder I need to open for a specific bit of info

If you want to wait that's fine, it's up to you. Right now we're kind of doing a 'jump in when you can' iniative-style since this is a PbP game and that seems to work with people's scehdules better.

Reminder that I will be away from the game for the next week. It was morning when you awoke, combat with the wolves took almost no time. It took about an hour to trudge from your camp location to Myrefall and then probably several hours to do your investigation, followed by 18 seconds of furious combat. With Odin and Kish leaving to do their investigation and taking care of our newly found comrade, you're looking at late morning maybe noon(ish).

Is this long rest or short rest? based on timing seems like short rest time time. If so could I use my Second Wind beforehand?

Since I wanted ya'll to level to level 2, this would have to be a long rest.

Hey friends, I seem to the long nail at the moment. Today I had to put down my gloriously fat, stubborn and grouchy cuddle puddle of a cat that I have had for the last 18 years, so that really sucked. I'll try to get ya'll an update tomorrow.

Real sorry to hear that. That first day when you get them home is one of the greatest joys in life, but you always know you're setting yourself up for one of the worst days down the line. I've grown up surrounded by dogs my whole life, and I don't think it ever gets any easier when that day comes around.

On a lighter note, hope everyone's camping and Hawaii-trips go well :)
