I'm normally more active than I have been the last few months in terms of promoting this part of the hobby -- a web article or two, a couple of podcasts, a YouTube video, a game last year where I brought about a dozen people to the site from a different Discord for a Knave game that had three active groups...

Work and life have been rough (busy) lately, and I also decided to focus on fewer, higher quality games. That means I put less on offer, join fewer games to help newer players learn the ropes, etc. Time to change that a bit.

I too have often mused about a drop-in / out West Marches style PbP game, and how I could manage a larger group of players than normal. Hm. Going to give this some more thought...

We've also recently resurrected the Book (Reading) Club on Discord! If you like reading books make sure to join over there!

I love this website and the community and have had many fun times here. So I too would like to give back. However, I don't think I can commit the time needed to GM or co-GM an intro game. (When/if I do, I might also create one :) )

That being said, I'd be happy to offer some assistance with a running one. Like helping new players create a char, trying to find/make some art or a battle map, creating some kind of guide. That kinda stuff. But running the game would be a bit too much right now.
If anyone is in need of something like that, feel free to hit me up!

Would it be useful to create a list of "bench sitting GMs" who can take over when someone can temporarily not make it?

Related to the same topic, but a different angle;
We could go onto some discord servers and promote GP (not aggressively). Like if you're starting a Dungeon World game, you can go to the DW discord and put up a LFG post there. Maybe it's only needed if you're low on players?

I've done that on the Mothership server and found two players for a game I ran on GP from there. However, I don't think they stuck around on the site as they are really live players.

Want to interact more how about a share your art thread? A short story thread? A get to know a player thread?

There's a westmarches thing on the RPG crossing. I've had a lv 3 dragon born sitting for 2 years waiting on a game. There were like 4 gms then suddenly 2. But they now busy playing each other's game and no new going on. If you did a thing like that I'd make sure it's with long term dms. Ready to run 2-3games each. Or like on crossing it will die.

They also had a couple continuous recruiting games where a dm would aim to run 3 groups through the whole set. Lier lost mines into dragon queen . But the dms again didn't stick with it and it died out.

Hopefully you will be more lucky on GP, but its same on most PBP sites, need to be patient to find games.
