How far away is everyone from the monster? Rolling just in case, but let me know if additional ones are needed.
If she is at the right angle, Amalthea will jump from her spot on the altar to drive down her hammer on Walter. If not, she will grab a piece of altar rubble to throw at Walter and then rush down as quickly as she can, bringing up her shield to move in front of the others.

Rolls

Warhammer - Attack - (1d20+6)

(11) + 6 = 17

Warhammer - Damage - (1d8+4)

(8) + 4 = 12

Dex Based Attack - Attack - (1d20+3)

(14) + 3 = 17

Dex Based Attack - Damage - (1d4+1)

(3) + 1 = 4

I will have a battle map soon, but right now the monster is engaged in melee with Taniwha. Amalthea and Abe are on the altar which is in the middle of the room, 20 feet from the monster alcove and 10 feet from the monster, and 5 feet above the ground, up some steps. Narissa is not far behind Taniwha iirc, let's say 10 feet. Amalthea definitely has the Strength to land on Walter even with a standing long jump, much less a running jump. The monster is Large and an easy target.
As Amalthea plummets into Walter, the warhammer cracks into the skull-like dome of the creature's spider-abdomen. Walter seems dazed for a moment, but roars again. The warhammer seems only to have scratched it and made it angrier.

Thought I'd get my post in to move things along.
The mass of the beast appearing from the rubbish pile and the chanting had put Taniwha off his game, his heightened reflexes not quite their usual self he slowly turns to confront the threat. He moves out of the way of the clumsy attack, more from learnt practice then an actual act. His brain fog fading with Amalthea‘s strike waking him.

Taniwha moves around to strike from the another angle, drawing a short blade so he can hopefully stay close to the beast making it harder to strike him.
OOC:
Attack: Sneak attack with Ally within 5ft with dagger.
Bonus: Unarmed strike
Use inspiration on Sneak attack.

It seems Narissa has been away for 14 days. I'll post as well to try and help Taniwha get things moving along.

Continuing to move towards the monstrosity, Abraham swings with his longsword as he reaches it, intent on laying it low.

Wow, I had not noticed how long Narissa has been gone. That's my bad for not pinging her. Thanks for helping speed up the game.
Taniwha's dagger sinks into the tough, fleshy hide of the monstrosity, dealing 12 damage. He launches an unarmed attack at the same time, sinking even deeper into the creature's flesh and dealing 7 damage. From another angle, Abraham swings down on the creature and makes a clean slice down one of its legs. The wound doesn't bleed, yet every time the creature stomps and writhes it rips open wider. This wound deals 7 damage.

Round Two

The creature that was Walter shrieks and slams fleshy limbs into Amalthea and Abraham. Both take the below damage as the huge limbs buffet into them, splashing them through the water.

Reaction to use Warding Flare? It imposes disadvantage on the attack. (Unless the enemy is immune to the Blinded condition.)

It will probably still hit because a +7 bonus is huge at second level, but it's all I've got.

Amalthea will also use Paladin Fight Style - Protection: When a creature you can see attacks a target other than you that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. You must be wielding a shield.
Water splashes around her from the splaying limbs and her vision darkens for a moment after the massive strike from Walter. Only her armor and shield seem to prevent both her and Abraham from being squashed to a pulp. Both she and Abraham have taken massive damage from the creature. She calls upon her gifted powers to heal them.

Taniwha watches as his companions are lashed at by the monstrous Walter, the young Tiefling impressed, despite himself, by Amalthea placing herself between Abraham and the slashing tentacles. He shakes himself back to the now and the job at hand.

Allowing the blade to slip into a reverse grip he slashes down to side of the beast, following up with a powerful front kick to the same area.

Critical strike - (1d4+1d6)

(2) + (1) = 3

The creature presses the attack, splashing through the water. Taniwha manages to slice and kick an unnatural wound into the beast. Meanwhile, Amalthea heals herself through her divine power. The creature seems to sag as its wounds tear deeper, and it throws itself into the fray sluggishly. The giant humanoid face is impassive, as if the infant form is dormant within the demonic entity.
OOC:
@MaJunior I believe you still have an action in the second round.
