I had high hopes for the WoD games when they came out, was looking for something more story focused (even back then), but was disappointed that their 'Storyteller' system was so mechanical. :(
I never got more than a few episodes into Grimm, though it looked promising.
I have not read the Iron Druid books, though they are on my list... but it is a long list.
Not many mention Rivers of London. I have the most recent book but have not read it yet, it is probably top 5 on my list of what to read next (which is not bad on a long list).
Rivers of London was useful when a game started in London. As was Benedict Jacka's Inheritance series (and possibly Alex Verus, though those were a bit of a slog at the start ('first book syndrome'). Inheritance of Magic was great, looking forward to the third book later this year.

My list of supernatural thrillers is embarassingly light.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Lost Girl TV show
...
Light does not matter when it include the likes of those. Not many bring up Lost Girl, that was great for the few seasons I got to watch. And Buffy is always a win. :)
